I have been going to Donnie at 122 Park Salon for almost a year and couldn't be more satisfied! I have very thick, coarse dry hair and after Donnie blows my hair out it looks straight and shiny. He works quickly and with great precision. He always takes the time to understand what I am looking for and then over delivers. Donnie has also colored and highlighted my hair with excellent results. My hair was very dark and unnatural looking when I first went to him. Now my hair looks natural and sun-kissed. I honestly couldn't be happier. I have been to other stylists and none compare to Donnie at 122 Park Salon. If you are looking for a stylist who listens and can easily deliver go straight to Donnie. You won't be disappointed!

3 haircuts is enough of an experience to write a review. The salon is cool, but I care more about the talent and the haircut. Came to Donnie on a recommend from someone who has the same type of hair as mine (thick, wavy, and as Donnie consistently points out dry). I was growing out my hair from weird layers previously cut. I was more than communicative about my goals: cascading even layers in a basic face frame keeping it long, and also showed photos. The first haircut... he did not do much.. .and I thought ok... that is good as we are trying to shape it slowly I guess. Second haircut... still the same as the first... not much change, shape, or cascading layers. In fact each side was uneven... and had to go back to point out that it is uneven... Third haircut... now hair feels long again... but there was still some disconnect in the weird layers that have not been yet blended. He suggested to cut off the weird layer, (I trusted and agreed ) but I said not if it makes it too short. (I can't see in the back of my head). Donnie was quick to lob off the weird layer... and not blending it with the others. He cut it STRAIGHT across in a BLUNT cut... now my hair looks one length... NOT what I ever talked about and is now too short. He cut a little layer in the front that had absolutely no swing to it and when I put it behind my ear.. .my hair looked like the Little Dutch Boy. I could have done that myself. There was absolutely NO face frame or any layer at all. FYI with very thick hair there needs to be swing and layers so it is not heavy.... which he should know. I called ONCE AGAIN to point it out... and show a photo... his comment was "her hair is much thinner than yours" So he just arbitrarily cut into it with his scissors... NEVER measured each side.... needless to say he created the very issue I originally came in with... but now it is too SHORT with the same issue. Not sure if Donnie is complacent with his work, doesn't listen and just does what he wants, or just can't cut thick hair... but my experience was a BIG disappointment, not worth the $$ or the tip, and now I have to spend months growing my hair out again.

LOVE this salon! Been getting color, balayage and cuts by Donnie for a few years now. He is the best and why I keep going back. He is a professional and up on the latest hair trends. He really listens to his clients and is on time with his scheduling, which I appreciate when I have limited time. The receptionist, Robin, is always welcoming and friendly. The place has such a positive, warm and comfortable vibe. Highly recommend!! --

I am obsessed w kathy. I have been going to her for years for highlights and haircuts. I live in New York City and come to Rockland. My favorite thing about her is that she is consistent. I'm always happy w my color. She also gives a damn good haircut. My hair is so easy to blow and honestly looks good even when I don't blow dry it (which I haven't done in months since covid). She's just wonderful. Does amazing work and is a great person too!

I have been going to Donnie for several years now and I have never once been disappointed. He is professional, confident and tremendously talented. He always listens to how I'd like my hair styled, but also provides excellent advice that I can trust. The salon is comfortable, modern and relaxing, and Donnie has such a wonderful staff! Cannot recommend 122 Park Salon enough if you want to go to a salon that makes you feel beautiful and confident. (Also, considering these crazy times we live in, Donnie takes every precaution to ensure that everyone stays healthy!)
