JK City Nails and Spa in New City, NY

Jk nails is very dirty . They need to clean there shop , paint, and dust . Won't be going back .

Owner Sophie is racist. If you are not white, stay away. As soon as you walk in she yells at you" what do you want?" even if you have an appointment. There are good workers there, but again she won't let one person finish your service if you are anything but white. She will switch three people to finish a pedi, then a forth one for the mani. It was an appointment booked well in advance. I have been noticing this , but kept going there because I liked the staff. But Sophie is rude, and disrespectful to certain customers, and I recognized the pattern. She is Racist!!! If you are black , or brown, don't go there.

DO NOT GO HERE!! The staff was extremely rude and disrespectful. When we walked in we were greeted with "what do you want? At that moment I really wanted to leave, but our sister was getting married and we needed our nails done. We advised the owner we had an appointment for three. My sister In-law was parking the car at the time. The staff was attentive to my sister-in-law ( white female) and greeted her pleasantly when she arrived. For context, As you can see on My profile picture my sister and are black. I received the worst pedicure ever. I had to pull my foot away after asking the owners husband 3 times repeatedly to stop filing my nails down so thin. His actions I just blamed on him just being unprofessional, because he was talking on his phone the entire time as he did my nails. At no point did he ask what service I wanted ( same with my sister). On the other had my sister In-law received a menu to view the list of services provided. I continue to observe, because I understand people do have bad days. But the service continue to go down hill for me and my sister as we watch the staff catering to other customers who happened to be white. The nail tech was butchering my nail, I tried to walk him through what I wanted done to my nails. The own happed to walk by she overheard the conversation, so she took over my nails. She did a good job. At the end she offered to give me a massage which I declined. But then she thought it was ok to touch my hair. I was in complete disbelief so my sister, kindly ask her to stop not touching my hair, because I was left completely speechless. Then I handed her my card and she insisted I tip her. My sister In-law suggested this place, I would never refer anyone (regardless of their race). It's always disheartening to be reminded that some people feel entitled to treat you badly based on the color of your skin.

They are very unfriendly!!!! They use old polish and nails dont last!!! That's there way of pushing gel manicures!

I really love this nail salon! I do see them taking safety precautions. It is very clean and nail polishes are good. Jason is a truly professional nail tech and really nice person. He knows how to interact with his customers. Best of all he does a beautiful nails. The other nail techs are good but some don't speak English. The vibe is relaxed every time I go. This is not near me but I feel it's worth going the distance for a quality nail salon where you are treated respectfully & safety is observed. I appreciate that!
