Frizzles in Springfield, VA

I don't often post reviews, but my daughter and I had the very best experience at Frizzles in Springfield, VA! Ronny did my hair---color and cut. I love it beyond words, I came in with washed out "blah" color and he spent time working with me and bringing me samples to choose from. This is the best color I've had in many years! And then the cut---awesome! He paid attention to everything I requested, and I can honestly say it's the best cut I've had in years! While I was with Ronny, my daughter was getting a half platinum blond mix with Layla. She took so much time and care because of the previous hair color and it looked amazing. Color was perfect, cut was perfect. Everyone in the salon was lovely, we had a great visit from the moment we stepped in the door! Highly recommend and completely endorse Ronny and Layla!

Iman does a great job with curly hair, whether she styles it curly or gives a smooth blowout. Highly recommend her sevices.

Last January and February 2023, I had the worst hair cut in my adult life. The name of the stylist is Iman but she is not pictured on the website. It took me a year to write a review because I am still suffering from the trauma from the way she butchered my hair and was so upset and felt resentment towards Iman. I'm currently growing my hair out because she cut it so short!! I initially came in January 2023 for a curly hair deva cut with a shaped look. I brought in exact photos of how I wanted it to look and I specifically told the stylist that I wanted a "V cut in the back" along with the picture. She ended up doing an A-cut where the hair in the front of my face was long and the back was super short!!!! I HATE that look and I specifically stated NOT do this! I had to go back twice to fix the cut and it just had to keep getting cut shorter. It also gets worse. I asked for PINTURA highlights. This woman used foil and did regular highlights!!! PINTURA highlights are a free-hand technique where you paint the curls one at a time! I went to another stylist to get it corrected and she even said how much of a terrible job she did. There was no contrast in color and it looked like I just colored my entire head with one color. Please beware. If you're going in for Pintura highlights, make sure the stylist is certified in doing this technique and knows what they're doing. You're NOT supposed to used foil for this technique. I'll never go back to Frizzles again. Again, I've been to other places that specialize in Deva curly cuts and I've always had amazing looks and when my hair grew out, the shape always looked lovely. With this short hair "deva" cut that Iman did, my hair is growing out so terrible and uneven even after a year later! Now I have to get a trim to even the ends but I was hoping to have more inches by now. Instead, I have to keep cutting it to even out the shape. Stay away from Iman if you have curly hair. Any other stylist there may do your hair justice but they assigned me to Iman and I'll never go back!!

most ridiculous experience of my life. my appointment was at 2:15pm and I wanted to try a new salon most of my friends have gone to before. upon arrival I wait in my car with my best friend since we had 10 minutes before the appointment and wanted to finish up our conversation (and our leftover lunch). two men are watching from the windows starring at us from the second we pull into the parking lot. i'm not concerned, until they don't look away for the entire time we are in the car. it's off putting but not enough to make me walk away. I check in with no issue and immediately get greated as if I was late to my appointment. I am bombarded with questions of why I was waiting in my car to walk in. I apologized if there was confusion and stated there was time before my appointment started. there was no issue. the other man greeted me and asked me multiple questions of why I was in the car and accused me of being under the influence of marijuana. which he did so by placing the end of his cap on my forehead and starring into my eyes. I expressed to him that my friend and I were having a private conversation that resulted in tears, so yes maybe my eyes look watery. it was extremely unprofessional. he continued to press me of what we were talking about, which was none of his business - I shared anyway due to how uncomfortable I was already feeling. this man never even touched my hair or was apart of my appointment but sure acted like it. among this appointment my hairdresser continued to repeat how badly I needed a hair cut, hence the reason i was there in the first place... I didn't appreciate how many times he made it known how bad my hair looked. you really don't know what goes on in peoples lives, so it's extremely rude to be making continuous comments. he claimed he was going to "bring my hair back to life," which anyone is capable of just by cutting off the split ends. I do not appreciate the entitlement of both men who I spoke with. along with the $200 I spent and was uncomfortable the entire time. my time at reception, shampooing and hair drying was the only time I felt comfortable during my appointment. I will never come back to this establishment after being treated so rudely. it is such a shame considering the man who did complete my hair did such a nice job.

I have been fortunate enough to find someone each time I moved who can cut my hair. Unfortunately, my experience with Shawnna was disappointing. I clearly stated I wanted to maintain my hair length and showed her photos for reference. Despite this, she cut 4 inches off and more. She did not even ask to verify if cutting that much was okay. She just chopped away. I asked for a shag cut and wanted to keep my hair long. I now have difficulty styling because I ended up with an Afro that I did not ask for. I also have a rat tail. We did not click, and I won't be returning.
