Chyana Always does my hair ! I love her , She's is very detailed and precise when it comes to cutting your hair length. Everyone of the ladies here is amazing and takes their time . $
I've been coming here since I was about 10 and the warm, family environment hasn't changed. As I grew older, I ended up coming less and less because I moved overseas but ever since I've been back in the area, Special Touch is my go to. Always book your appointment in advance because while you may be able to walk in (rare), this isn't a quick touch and go type of salon. That's probably why they are always booked up. They take their time on your hair and you walk out with gorgeous healthy tresses every time. Miguelina (Maria) has been cutting my hair since I was a child and whether it's a trim or layers, she expertly cuts your hair to frame your face without direction or guidance. After not visiting the salon for years, she stopped what she was doing to cut my hair because it had been 5 years since I visited and she even remembered my mom bringing me in as a child. Yesenia has become my go to stylist now and she's AMAZING! Just know when you come in, you're going to leave feeling happy and with healthy bouncing hair. Love this place.
Been going here a while. I am not a consistent customer. So sometimes it seems to get the stylish I want ( even after making an appointment) takes an extra hour than it normally would.) I usually choose a stylist based on their ability not to burn me with the blow out dryer. Style wise I am usually happy with anyone. Never the less, my last visit lelt me feeling better than I ever have about my new look. No better way to bring in 2020 than feeling good and looking good. I don't know her name, yet it was one of the more mature ladies; she wears glasses. She talked me into a look that isn't usually my style. I've been getting compliments all week. So I just wanted to say thank you and go get your hair done by her!
I've been going to this salon for almost 10 years. The shampoo lady I think her name is Christina Botero kept digging her nails in my shoulder. She yelled at me telling me how tangled my hair was when I just washed it myself and kept the conditioner in to make it easy like I do all the the time. I have extremely curly hair. As she detangled my hair she used a rat comb and just basically pulled my hair where I could not stand it any longer. I will ibe returning after being assaulted like that. I left with a huge headache and bruising along my shoulder. I don't recommend going to this salon. Oneida was my stylist and after she left it's gone down the drain. The man who is a receptionist there is rude told me I had to tip and how to tip. It was the most uncomfortable experience I have ever had at a salon.
Went here after a recommendation from someone who also wears their hair naturally curly. I had my doubts when they double checked I didn't want my hair blown out straight. I said no I wanted a curly cut and style. I sit down and the woman, who I thought was Maria but I'm not so sure now, said "I can fool you by cutting curly, but I don't cut like that." I responded with "I'm afraid that when you cut hair straight and I wear it curly it will be uneven." She explained that by playing with the hair straight, she could really see what it needed. I felt like getting up and leaving at this point, but I thought well she was recommended from a fellow curly girl so let me see what she's got. She then brushes my hair dry with a paddle brush, which hurt because I have a lot of curly hair. Then blow dries it straight and cuts it. It looked nice, straight -_- she then washes it, dries it with a towel and styles it. She didn't use hardly any product, which for the amount of my hair I knew it would go far. Plus being a curly girl you need to apply the products on soaking wet hair, not on towel dried hair. She let me leave with wet hair, didn't even attempt to dry it. I am starting to think now she didn't want to dry it, as she knew it would shrink up unevenly like I said. Felt like I paid $70 for a trim, and it didn't even fix what I needed it to. Disappointed at the lack of regard for the need to cut curly hair in its natural state. In the pic attached you can see why there is a need. The top layers look nice, however the overall experience was not great. The receptionist was nice also, hence my 2 instead of a 1. I suggest they train up on how to cut curly hair!
