He & She Hair Salon in Springfield, VA

I walked in on a Friday morning at 10 am, asking if they had time for a cut and a color touch up. Sure, no problem. Great, i thought, 1 more item of my extensive list for today. But wait...after color was done, I was approached and was told that the stylist is still busy with another client and they do not have any openings until 4 pm. After voicing my displeasure, I explained that there will be no wiggle room, I have an event to host and 4 pm is a hard lock to get this done. I was assured that this was no problem, it was written down and I left. Guess what happened at 4 pm? I was told that the stylist is super busy with an emergency and they would not have time until 5 pm. I asked if the manager on duty could come over my house and host my event since I am going to get a haircut. She clearly did not see the sarcasm in my request. The manager on duty refused to get me in contact with the owner since she (owner of the manassas location) was the one guaranteeing my 4 pm appointment. I am all about supporting small business but when you fall short on the simplest of tasks and do not respect your clients timeframes when they clearly state that there is no exceptions to be made then nope, I can not recommend this establishment to anyone.

This review is based on 3 visits. I had gone to Maria Luz twice to do full highlights b/c I was trying to lighten my hair so my gray would not show. I had good experiences until my third visit. I had made a Saturday appointment. When I arrived, Maria was working on cutting and styling someone else. She said she would mix my color for my root touch up but have a colleague actually apply it. She handed me off to an older Asian woman who DID NOT know how to do color. This is based on the fact that she started applying the color WITHOUT combing or sectioning off my curly hair. I should have left then and there because the lady made the color process horrible. Also, she used household plastic wrap on my hair and used the same dirty colored gloves she used on my hair on her next client. Unsanitary! Once Maria was done with her other client she comes over and washes my hair and does a toner or brightening (I forgot because I was in shock mode). But, again she keeps walking away because another client shows up and she starts doing her color. When it came time to cut my hair, it was a rush job and honestly she only blow dried the front half of my hair and called it quits because she was rushing as another client who showed up. The worst part is she has the audacity to charge me MORE than the previous 2 visits where I did full highlights/styling and had 100 percent of her time. Lesson learned: This salon is NOT worth my time or money if I'm only going to get 30 percent of Maria Luz's services and be pawned off on an unlicensed/unsanitary stylist.

I am in love with Maria's work she has been my hair stylist for the last 7 years. She is simply the best hair stylist. I trust her work and she is always making me so happy with my hair cut and color. She is professional and she knows her job so well. She is amazing and always working so hard to make her customer happy. I simply love her and her work

I just wanna to say this place so unprofessional. Luz María was very mean and rude to my family, she threaten us very disrespectful. Never in my life met someone who refer to children as animals very offensive. To my children just because they were playing with each other. Secondly she almost kick me out by asking me to pay before she was even finished my hair. Quote "go head and pay so you can leave". I was so disappointed by the way we were treated. Very poor customer service. And unprofessional Never ever coming herer again. $150 paid just to get insulted and humiliated. My son and daughter left crying to listen Luz María arguing and shouting.
