Blow In Blow Out in Summit, NJ

I moved to NJ from NYC a few years ago and quickly found that the caliber of blowouts in many highly recommended and expensive salons was just not as good. I was happy to find Blow In Blow Out. While some of the girls are better than others (Jillian is my go-to), they all do a pretty good job and although their prices have gone up by 28% (inflation) over the past few years, they are still fairly reasonable compared to others in the area.

Amazing! Patient and professional. They did a beautiful job!!! Lots of complements and I saw the other work they did on the same day and it was also spectacular. Would definitely recommend!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I never in my life have been treated as terribly as I was here. I get frequent blow outs and I almost always get my hair done before a big event. I had a wedding to go to and requested an updo two months in advance here. I wanted to try something new closer to my house. When I arrived they had me for a blow out and braid. I arrived ten minutes early, Noelle finished her client before my schedule time, but I was told I could only be seen at my appointment time. While I've never experienced something like that I respected their rules. I was recommended Noelle as she is the queen of updos they told me. That could not be further from the truth. Whenever I've done my hair up, they usually curl it to add dimension to the updo. She brushed my hair, attached my extensions and did a normal bun that I could have done at home. I tried to make small talk but she was not in the mood to chat. I expressed my feelings about the bun to her, and the nasty attitude started. She was increasingly rude as I tried to suggest maybe a pony "yeah ok your extensions will show" with a rude tone. I ended up walking out with an updo that I could have done at home. Took it down when I got home and ended up doing something myself. Do yourself a favor and find a place where they are actually nice and want to make sure you have a good time. Oh and they charged me, without even asking if this was what i expected. Terrible terrible customer service.

I love Blow In Blow Out, so much so that I am a package holder at this boutique style salon! Their prices are reasonable and their stylists' work is beautiful. I have seen Alyssa, Sonaya and Frenchie for both color and blow outs. A Summit go-to!

This is literally my absolute favorite spot to get my hair done. Whether I need color, my weekly blowout, or a deep conditioning treatment, all the girls here are fantastic. Frenchie, Jillian, and Alyssa are all so sweet and talented at everything hair! They also are extremely cautious when it comes to COVID-19 precautions such as temperature checks, sanitizing stations, and mask wearing. The vibe inside the salon is so homey and cute, I feel like I'm sitting in my living room with a bunch of my friends. The best!
