Vicki Popp Salon in Summit, NJ

I arrived at Vicki Popp Salon with a photo and a half thought-out description of what I wanted. Val listened, asked important questions around maintenance and told me her thoughts. I trusted her entirely and am so happy that I did. The color and cut came out better than the photo I'd brought in for inspiration. Will definitely be back! Bonus points - Everyone is very friendly, they had the best playlist and the salon was super cute.

I have been going to Vicki Popp for years and to her salon for as long as it has been open. First of all, the salon itself is gorgeous. It's upscale, super clean and comfortable. During the pandemic, every single precaution was taken. Each station is sanitized after every client, there are partitions at more common areas like the shampoo bowls, everyone wears a mask and your temperature is taken upon entering for your service. I felt completely safe and well taken care of during my recent mid-pandemic visits. On to Vicki though: her skills are untouchable. She painstakingly puts 200 foils+ in my hair to get me to that perfect blonde I've always tried (but failed) to achieve, especially in a healthy way. Pre-Vicki, I would experience terrible breakage, brassy color and severe banding when putting my hair up. Now my color is seamless, bright and my hair actually GROWS. And on top of that, somehow even at the light blonde I'm at, my hair grows out SO nicely. There are no harsh lines of demarcation. I always get compliments on my hair ever since going to Vicki which blows my mind because I always used to struggle so badly with it. This is seriously the top salon and worth every penny. Their focus on their services and customers is absolutely amazing! I have turned a lot of my friends on to this salon and they are in love as well!

I am a new client of Val's for a cut and blonde foils. She did a knock out job! I saw her for a 15 min consultation, then a week later she did her magic. It had been five months since I had both done and am pleased with how she seamlessly updated my hair. I will be going back!

I have been going to vicki for many years. I love her Salon, it is very clean, everyone is so nice and she does amazing work. You need to schedule an appointment a few weeks in advance for her but well worth the wait.

As a cancer survivor, who spent the better part of a year completely hairless, stepping through the door of any salon was going to be a challenge. I didn't want to part with even one inch of the hair that took me so long to grow back. But the ends of my hair were fried from chemo, and it was something I just had to do. When I walked in to Vicki Popp, I could tell I was the last appointment, and that they just needed to finish my hair before they could go home, but at no point during my appointment did anyone make me feel rushed, unwelcome, or uncomfortable. In fact, my stylist took as much time as I needed to discuss my haircut and what I could do with it to make improvements. Valeria, my stylist, was extremely knowledgable in hair, giving me tips and tricks as she went along. It was clear that she knew what she was doing when we discussed the cut I wanted. Unfortunately doing the exact style I wanted, wasn't going to be possible due to my hair not having grown in enough in the front, and she was honest with me instead of plowing along, knowing that it might not turn out well. After some discussion, we finally settled on a style that would look good and that I liked. She made the process painless and easy, and I actually relaxed! She is engaging and fun to talk to. It honestly felt like I was talking to a friend, and I almost asked her if she would like to hang out sometime, but luckily reigned myself in. She's too good of a hair stylist for me to ruin with my friendship! I definitely recommend this salon. The environment is warm, clean, and friendly, and if Valeria is any indication of the caliber of stylists that they have, then they have amazing stylists as well.
