If you value your time and have appointments to keep, this isn't the place for you. I asked for a simple trim on Friday, August 18. Ms Wilkins suggested 9:30am which was fine, as I had an important work event at 10am less than 2 miles away. Not only was she late, by the time she waddled in, 10 minutes late, my trim was rushed and she missed some spots. And she didn't even apologize which is customary when a client has been waiting. Moreover, her colleagues supported this unprofesional behavior by repeating "She's here, she's here..." If she's not in the building, she's NOT "here". At any rate, I'll not be back. If you have no career and have time to waste, by all means, come here. If you have a schedule to keep, I suggest you pass.
I was not treated right. I was disliked for no reason. I also caught a ring work. For me I will never return it seems they didn't want my business. Now I have to treat this ring work in the back of my head.
Joy was great, you can book an appointment with her on Styleseat. That gets at least two stars alone. She was on time for my 10am appointment. I had a picture of Ghana braids and she tweaked it and made it suit me. Took about 3 hours (my hair was washed). She was professional and nice. Salon is a typical black salon from many childhoods. A little crowded, a little messy, but with many talented stylists.
Update: The updo created with gel began to flake. I don't realize that my hair had begun to flake until a colleague brought it to my attention! ( how embarrassing, this was all during a job related conference 3 hours away from home) needless to say again, I will NEVER return to Joyce or S and S salon AGAIN! I will also be relaying my experience to all I know.
Walked in....last minute....& ms Shalone hooked me up !! Love the color !! Shop is kind of blah and if I wasn't put in a bind then I probably wouldn't have even came here....but needless to say I'm glad I did... Oh also the other stylets were braiding, sewing weaves etc & they turned out great !! I would consider them hooking me up and would def recommend this shop !
