Frizzles of Alexandria in Alexandria, VA

Nice looking salon, but you can tell they are just trying to get people in and out as fast as possible. I saw multiple stylists that were double booked, wouldn't be surprised if some were triple booked. I have been getting blonde highlights for multiple years (4+ years in another state) and my stylist at Frizzles left me under the heat lamp for almost an hour (I've never sat under longer than 25 min.) I have a decent sized chunk of breakage at the top of my head that I am now trying to repair. My haircut was not what I asked for (basic trim of ends & grown out curtain bangs,) and she pretty much went & did her own thing. She gave me weird layers around my face & cut my curtain bangs WAY too short as I had asked for them to just be trimmed up. She didn't didn't even ask where I parted my hair when parting it & cut it based on where she parted it. She was very rough when giving me a blowout and pulled my hair very hard multiple times. I would not recommend this salon! You can find another stylist in Alexandria who is just as much who will actually listen to you and not fry your hair off.

I had a haircut with Luna, my first time visiting the salon. I had done a lot of research on their website as they offer extensive bio's and pics for most of their stylists, and I chose Luna. She listened to exactly what I said and did what I wanted. After the cut was complete I wanted to change the length again, which was my preference, as she had done what I asked for and she was really cool and didn't make me feel like a jerk for asking which some ppl do. Overall it was a nice experience and I feel that the price-point is fair and I will def go back.

If you are looking for a curly cut then I highly recommend booking with Talor. I chose the dry curly cut and it didn't take long and I am very happy with the results. I've booked an appointment in a few weeks to get balayage with her as well.

I have been a client of this salon for over 20 years even before they open the Alexandria location. Sami, the owner, is amazing. I highly recommend this salon.

Warning: DO NOT go to this salon. As you can see in the other reviews below, they have trouble making clients happy and then have a no refunds policy. They tried to fix my highlights after I complained (Sami, the owner did them) and they were still terrible. I declined an offer to try again to fix them and instead paid another salon $200 to do it the next day. They then refused to compensate me. So sad and frustrating. I'm a new mom and really don't have time to get my hair done and redone. I spoke with the owner Alex who tried to make me feel bad for asking for a refund. You guys are in the SERVICE industry- you need training to better deal with breakdowns. I disputed the charge for the highlight with my CC company. Sami lied and said I never complained and that I tipped him so he thought everything was fine. Lies. Life is too short. Don't put yourself in a position to deal with uncaring owners with hard policies regardless of how their clients feel. This is not normal. For the record, this is the first time I have ever complained about a hair experience. They actually suggested to me that many people complain to them with no merit just to get their money back. Sami and Alex, just maybe, read your reviews on this and other sites and realize you could be making mistakes. Treat people better.
