They seem to double book their appointments. Whoever shows up first gets started first. The second will be washed and sit with a wet head until the first done. If you offer to come back, your appt will be canceled because the next set of appts is on the way. If you don't mind sharing your appt time, this salon may work for you. If you expect to be serviced upon arrival, look else where.

I scheduled an appointment online with Gemeniece Cole for a wash and roller set. I get there at about 4:20PM. I found this shop online and it's only a 4 minute walk from my home. This is my first time there and was so hoping for the very best experience. I'm new to the area and desperately need a hair stylist. I like to get my hair done every 2 weeks because I enjoy a good wash and roller set. I walk in and Gemeniece has a client in her chair getting a full weave sew-in. She wasn't even close to finishing. Well, she stops and goes to the wash bowl where she has another client waiting. She starts washing this client's hair at this time it's a little past 4:30PM. I get her attention and she comes over. I ask will she have time to do my hair and she stated that she's really busy. She said that she meant to text me and ask if I could come Saturday morning. Well needless to say, my answer was no because my appointment was for today and not tomorrow. Gemeniece was not apologetic at all. I asked if someone else could do my hair. She asked a fellow hair stylist who was sitting playing on her phone and she said no. I've never experienced such unprofessionalism. Gemeniece lost what could have been a loyal client. Gemeniece is a representation of Mane Source Beauty Bar and what a poor representation she is.

Cautionary Experience! Hair salons that don't keep a social media presence are doing so to avoid the upkeep but to also avoid being accountable for their eventual horrible work! Lesson learned. Do your research and don't just count on a friend's experience. My friend does just basic color, retwist, and style. When your work is great - you blast it!!! You want to tell and show the world!!! But when you're mediocre, can't stand toe to toe with others in your field, that does the same work - you fade out and just depend on current clientele and THEIR word of mouth. STOP!!! AVOID!!! After 2.5 years all was good until it's no longer!!! Toshia Crosby over processed my hair and now my locs are falling out. PERIOD!!! She started, maintained, and now ruined! Also, her technique is problematic. Because I always go for a roller set, I never realized the loose hairs weren't properly being intertwined. This chic really needs to just stop. These stylists out here truly think they can do it ALL and dance between doing all types of hair and styles. No. No you can not. This is proof! Stay in your lane. She knew she ruined my hair and has taken ZERO responsibility! I'm so disappointed and disgusted. In the 2.5 years I've paid her $3k - receipt attached & I've done at least 6-8 cash pymts, went every 4-6 wks faithfully, and this is the result!

My stylist Jermaine Norwood does a wonderful job. And he is quick. He can do a variety of styles and lengths. He does weaves, natural hair, relaxers, and etc. The young woman who does his shampooing is amazing, one of the best shampoos I've ever had. The location can be a little confusing because it is located in the basement of a residential building. Parking is in a free lot, but it can get a little packed.
