Martha's Hair Salon in Wheaton, MD

We had an appointment at 1100 and got there 10mins early. Martha was working in another person and we waited until 1140, then she told us we had to wait longer because she was going to grab someone else that walked in after us. No respect for appointments, she doesn't value her customers time. Totally inappropriate and disrespectful. Marta no respeta el tiempo de sus clientes. Llegamos 10 minutos antes de la cita, y l esperamos 40 minutos, y nos dice que seguiremos esperando por que va a atender a una señora que entró después de nosotros. Falta de respeto.

Do NOT waste your time. Hard to even have a conversation with anyone there as most don't know English. Poorly ran as there isn't ever a manger present and none of the stylists have experience. How they are even still open is beyond me.

Worst place !!! Don't go there. You have to wait long time. The stylist cut are not professional. They cut my hair so bad . It's a nightmare

This salon is Hispanic based, so their English is limited. Cons: When I first came in, I wasn't greeted. The lady that did my hair didn't even greet me either, she just started washing my hair and had the water splashing everywhere. The sink to wash your hair in is pretty uncomfortable and started hurting my neck. Pros: The lady that cut my hair (the one that sits next to Martha, the second lady on the left) knew what she was doing and did very well. Pricing: Cut and wash is $25, but if you want to blow dry, it is an extra $20 more, which is way too much, especially since I got it cut pretty short. This is my second time here and I can tell that they've remodeled a bit and increased their pricing.

I've become a client of ALBY! She's awesome! I would give a 5 star rating just because of her and prices. She cuts, color and does high lights on my hair. I get so many great compliments. I have also seen the work of Martha and its pretty good. I would not have walked in if it wasn't by recommendation. It's not a high end salon, so it's not clean or fancy. There's no special treatment either. It's true that the owner decides the price for you on the spot, there's not price list but the price I get is very reasonable for the work. I'm happy with it. And as some of reviews have said, they don't follow appointment. You can make an appointment but don't expect it to be respected. They work with you between clients. There's been two occasions where she's doing my hair and will get other clients. My car was towed because of that and I was very upset. I was there 4 minutes late, which I had called to let her know, and she took a client and made me wait 40 minutes for her. Because of that it made it go over the 2 hour limit in parking area in front of the salon. Till today I'm waiting to hear back from the owner to see if they would refund the money. I didn't throw a fit on her and they didn't seem to do much about it knowing it was their fault for making me wait. I don't appreciate that at all! BUT like I said, Alby is great so I did return. Now i just make an appointment for earlier during the day where its not so busy. She asked if the owner had called me and I said no. She apologized. If it wouldn't be for Alby, I really wouldn't have returned.
