Best salon I've ever been to. My gel nails were done very well, with no oversanding or hurting my cuticle when it was cut. The nail artist kept checking at every step that I liked them and was ready to fix anything I had a problem with. My hairstylist cut and blow dryed my hair beautifully, and very efficiently. It was just a trim, but she did it while it was dry to make sure it worked with my curl pattern and fixed up a few spots after washing and drying it. Everyone was so nice, and they were able to work me in despite the short notice I gave them. I couldn't be happier.
I've only been to J Stephens a few times now but I have had a great experience every time. I go to Joe to get my regular hair cuts and undercut trims and I highly recommend him. Joe is so friendly and attentive and always sits down with me before my haircut to discuss what I would like to do and give suggestions. All of the interactions I've had with other staff members have been very positive as well. If you're looking for a quality haircut in State College then definitely book with Joe!
It was the first time I tried this place and got dip powder manicure done. Outside of the limited color choices available, the finishes of the manicure was uneven and not smooth (you can see in the pictures). Additionally after they were done putting the nail paint, they didn't put any cream/lotion on my hand. It's the first time I have gotten any manicure where it didn't end with a moisturizer. The end result was super unsatisfactory. Two stars because the place was clean and they are taking all the needed covid precautions
I loved this place! Marilene did such a great job on my nails and was so so nice, and the salon was very clean and COVID-friendly. Definitely recommend.
This is the best nail salon in state college. I have been to every single nail salon here and none of them compare to J Stephens. I had a gel manicure done by Marilene and she was extremely sweet, caring, and took her time with my manicure to make sure that it was perfect. I highly recommend her for gel mani's and will definitely be back in the future
