Viva Bella Salon LLC in State College, PA

I came here a while back and wasn't wowed but after needing to change salons and stylists I decided to give Viva Bella another go.... And I'm glad I did! Ashlyn was great. From start to finish I felt heard and taken care of. One of my biggest pet peeves is a stylist painting your forehead with coloring and not removing it completely before you leave the salon. Ashlyn was very careful to not paint my face and removed what was there. She recommended great products - which I've used in the last and love. Scheduled my follow up and can't wait!

DO NOT GO HERE!! I paid a hair stylist here named Laura to color my hair. The outcome was the complete opposite of what I asked for. She charged me, and told me to come in a week later to try and fix it. I came back the following week and she did an even more awful job. I wasted my time and money with Laura. She damaged and killed my hair. NEVER AGAIN.

Came here today for the first and last time. Just moved into town for school (like most people here) and looking for a salon to call home while here - unfortunately this place just isnt for me, or people with thick hair. I just needed a trim, typically I get a blunt cut with some long blunt layers - since my hair is thick you have to do it a certain way so it looks good. Im not a stylist, but Ive never had an issue in communicating this in the past - until today. The young person had no idea what i meant by this, nor did they seem to think having thick hair required any kind of special considerations. SO now I have a meh hair cut I could have gotten at super cuts for a fraction of the cost.

I have ALWAYS loved how my hair was done. Some employees aren't very personable or nice. Probably not going back. Receptionist wasn't very nice at all on the phone either. If you don't care necessarily how you're treated or how much you pay, I recommend it. Seriously though, it is worth the price if you are getting a complicated style/color. I feel like the stylists I had were only nice to me because they had to if that makes sense.

I absolutely love going to Viva Bella! Their salon is clean, trendy, and always up-to-date on the best hair care products and styles. I've been seeing Stacey for a few years now and she's absolutely amazing and super talented. She's taken my hair from dark to blonde and from long to short and I've always been happy with the results. She's consulted me on what I wanted and allowed me the opportunity to be honest in my feedback. I always feel welcome and definitely appreciate the glass of wine after a long day of work. Viva Bella is my happy place and I look forward to being a customer for many more years...or as long as Stacey will have me! I highly recommend this salon to anyone in State College or surrounding areas.
