Beyond The Fringe Hair Co in Richmond, VA

I have been to a stylist at this salon twice now, and while the first time I had a decent experience, the second time I most certainly did not. The first time going to her, I asked her to thin my hair out a bit because I have pretty thick hair. She reallyyyy thinned it out, a bit more than I would've liked but I figured it would be ok since it would grow back out and I did ask her to thin it out after all- I should've been more specific with what I wanted. I went back again a few days ago because I wanted to go short with my hair, but I asked for long layers and for her to not thin it out because it still hadn't gotten back to the thickness I had before my previous appointment with her. She repeated this back to me so I thought it would be fine, but yet still gave me a cut with choppy, unblended, and short layers and thinned my hair out so much I don't even recognize my hair when I look in a mirror. At first I thought that perhaps I just didn't like my hair because it was such a big change (she took five inches off), but after showing my hair and the references photos I gave her to friends and family they agreed that she didn't cut my hair in the way that I wanted. She seems like a very kind person, but I would not trust her with my hair again and would not recommend this salon to a friend anymore. I'm disappointed that I paid for this service and not only didn't get what I asked for, but now have to spend the next six months trying to get my hair back to where it was before she massacred it.

Not worth the money or time in my opinion. These were my roots 1 week into what was supposed to be bleach free highlights. Almost 7 months later, I am still dealing with bleach damage!!!

I made a hair appointment with leilia . She canceled on me 2 hours before my appointment. I was able to reschedule with her 3 days later and again, 2 hours before my appointment she cancelled. I find it interesting that they make you pay a partial payment up front to prevent cancellations or no-shows, but they do not live up to their part of the transaction. They are unprofessional and unreliable. DO NOT USE THEM

Stopped in for a wash and blow dry and they are amazing! Lovely salon and professional service. Wish I lived closer!

Just moved to the Richmond area after living in the PNW most of my life. I had a stylist that has done my hair for well over 20 years, so I was super nervous about finding a new hair stylist. I read the very favorable reviews for this salon & went in for an initial consultation with Leila and scheduled my appointment for today. Just got home and I am absolutely thrilled! Leila is awesome! She totally knew what I was looking for and even added touches that I love! Great salon with friendly and professional staff! I totally recommend this salon and Leila was amazing! I will be back in 6 weeks!
