Luminary Hair Co. in Richmond, VA

Frankly, I don't know who this company thinks they you are, you can setting up policies that have customers pay 50% for hair appointments that they're late for or miss; that's absurd. How rude!I I wouldn't pay a Doctor that kind of fee! Also the idea that they are demanding payment to set an appointment is another lacking policy. There are plenty of upstanding hair salons that do a much better job than Luminary Hair Company for a lesser cost and even more, but they have class!

i never leave yelp reviews because i'm understanding and don't take things too seriously, but i had a very annoying experience here. i wish i could speak on the stylists, which seem great, but we never got to see one. my partner had an appointment for 1:30pm and we were told by the front desk that there was a 10 minute grace period. we show up and are speaking with her at exactly 1:40pm just to be told that we had missed the grace period. literally held up my phone to show her it had just turned 1:40pm. although she had a nice, seemingly fake friendly demeanor it was so stressful trying to question and make sense of how we missed the grace period when it was perfect timing. it made us not want to reschedule an appointment, (that we had been excited about) due to this.. maybe a new and more sympathetic/rational? front desk receptionist would help.

I was all excited to find a new salon. After my last one closed down, this was the first one that appeared to be a safe space so I went ahead and booked an appointment. on my drive there there was a car crash in front of me and so I was 10 minutes late and they canceled my appointment and charged me the fee of it. Beware of strict late policy, I even called in right as I arrived because they told me that my appointment was canceled and I told them that I was half a mile away and I could be there in two minutes and they still said no. I was only aware of the cancellation policy not the late policy.

Friendly staff. However beware of the strict late policy. If YOU are not on time you will be charged a cancellation fee and be forced to reschedule. Yes even if you are 5 mins late.

The staff and environment were incredibly inviting & friendly from the moment that I stepped into salon all the way until I left. I had a very wonderful first time experience here. Abby was/is very talented and knowledgable. I am so appreciative and grateful for how communicative Abby was throughout the entire process and experience. Abby always checked in to make sure that I was comfortable. I was offered options as well as solutions for my coloring appointment and provided great advice as well as fun banter! I am looking forward to my next appointment already. Thank you Abby and Luminary Hair Co. !!!
