Zoom Tan - Tanning Salon in Saratoga Springs, NY

Waste of money. The tanning beds are weak so you have to tan very frequently to see results. The tanning booths do not seem to be maintained well as there is significant variance in the strength/life in the bulbs in different booths. The hours are also extremely inconvenient for anyone who works full time making it impossible to utilize the facilities enough to actually get your moneys worth out of a membership. Opening at 10am and closing at 8pm during the week and at 5pm on the weekends is absurd and extremely inconvenien.

Unfortunately this corporate company is a one size fits all, clinical style tanning salon experience. Same stand ups in every room, spray tan as the only alternate option. No option to modify bulb strength (for more sensitive skin types) or adjustments for fan output. Stand ups are very claustrophobic and HOT. There is no option inside the standup to see how much time is left on your session, you must exit the standup and look at a screen by the entry door. I do have more sensitive skin (though I do tan easily) and these bulbs felt like my skin was bubbling and burning off, and it does not help that there is little to no air flow from the fans. I had to end each session early (under 10 mins) due to the claustrophobia and strength of the bulbs. Each standup tans you differently, even though they claim they are all the same strength. This is most likely due to the changing to new bulbs on some stand ups and not others. I've visited 3 times, all for the same length of time (in the same brand/style stand up). I saw improvement to my tan the first two visits, but burnt very badly the third visit. I will most likely be ending my membership and moving to a salon that has a more personal feel and more options for an enjoyable tanning experience. Staff at this location is very friendly and helpful. They should consider dimming the lights or using soft watt bulbs in the ceilings, as the bright fluorescent lights highlight the dirt and grime on the floors and walls.

ESPECIALLY after reading prior reviews, I feel compelled to leave an accurate review for this place - April, 2021. I had to map it this morning because I don't live in Saratoga and so the reviews came up courtesy of apple maps. I needed a place to do UV AND a spray because I'm short on time and leaving for FL in two days. I could not be more PLEASED with Zoom in Saratoga. I arrived at 10:10 - so 10 minutes after they opened [on a Saturday of a holiday weekend] and ALL of the booths, beds, sprays - so 15+ - were occupied already. There were approximately 8-10 people appropriately spaced apart waiting and no line at the counter. I was greeted graciously, checked in immediately and promised a 10 minute wait for my booth. I didn't have high hopes, tbh [I set the bar low, thanks to the reviews on here]... but tanning was literally my entire agenda for the day so... wth? They seriously had everything humming along ON FIRE! I couldn't believe it. 8 minutes to my booth - 12 minute tan - came out, sat down to wait for my spray and she called me up for the spray in like 45 seconds. I am as prepared, UV wise, as I can be for a week in FL AND now looking FL bronze so I can bare my legs without being an embarrassed northerner. I used the rest rooms TWICE, by the way. This place is CLEAN... and trust me when I say, I KNOW what I'm talking about. I am a blonde who tans easily but I have to be pretty militant about my preparation for summer... I have darkened the doorway at many a tanning salon and this place is ABOVE average. I have ZERO complaints and will definitely not hesitate to go back when I am in the area. If Zoom management is reading this review, do check to see who the two women working today are... they are both management material.

They have been charging ever since they reopened without notifying customers and refuse to issue a refund for the months they charged with no notice. I would recommend finding ANYWHERE else to tan as this company doesn't care about their clients or doing the right thing. Lots of other great tanning options in Saratoga with better customer service.

Customer service gets negative stars, extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. The floor in the room was coated in dust. I've been to other zoom tan locations and had lovey experiences with the staff and cleanliness, so this is very disappointing.
