I had a appointment with Amy for a haircut and color. I had gotten a few haircuts from Amy and she did fine. And she gave me a haircut that had great shape and I liked that. After 1 other experience with her without her putting foils all over my head for $140, for cut and color. I made sure to say before she did ANYTHING. I told her I wanted the highlights ALL OVER my head. I wear my hair up as often as I wear it down. She said ok I can do it. After she did the top and sides ONLY. I said don't forget to do the back please. And she put some (literally 2) on the back. She finished and showed me how I looked. I liked how it looked from the front. But I had been there 3 hours. So I assumed she did it right since it looked good from the front. When I went to check out the lady who rang me out said the total was $180 and I asked why it was more expensive then last time. I paid assuming it was good and gave $20 tip. Later that afternoon I came home and my husband was looking at my hair and he just said oh my God she didn't do anything to the back of your head. He took pictures of the back for me. It LOOKED horrible. We had plans to attend a work dinner that night. I called our boss and told him I wouldn't be attending but my husband would still be there. So I called the shop. And asked for the manager the person who answered said she was the manager. I said that Amy messed up my hair she didn't bleach it properly she charged me more money then before. And I told her I was angry about it. And the manager told me to stop right there. And I told her no. Amy over charged me and if you are going to be charging more I should of been warned that it was going to cost more. She should of followed what I wanted. She shouldn't half a$$ the services for what she does. And she didn't show me the back of my hair because she knew she didn't do my hair correctly. The manager offered me $30 even though it was over $40 difference BEFORE the tip. And she offered me to have a different person to re bleach my hair. I said asked if I could come back later that day I said no so she offered me to come in the next day the same time. I agreed to. Then that morning my daughter in law left and grabbed supplies at her house to fix my hair. So she fixed it and added more high lights and she added about triple what Amy did. And she showed me the back of my head and lifted my hair to show me the layers of highlights and she told me if a hair dresser doesn't turn you around and hands you a hand mirror to look at the back. And if they don't then they probably messed up OR they aren't good hairdresser. If I could of given no stars I would of.

Went with pictures of desired cut and got it way shorter. Will take at least a month to be able to do anything with it.

I had a really bad experience with the staff on Saturday. I started going to Serenity for specific services a year back and was really happy but the experience that I had on Saturday changed my views about them. The issue was not the service but the behavior and arrogance of the staff. ( And that too a very experienced staff that as per her was with Serenity for quite long now) I took on appointment for waxing and did not enquired about the rate considering that it will be fixed as I have been going there from the past 1 year. But when i went there I was told the higher price and asking the reason they told me that because the technician is premium. I told them that in that case you should always check with the customers first if they are calling and making an appointment that if they would like lower or premium technicians as how would the customers know with whom you are booking the appointment. In all this scenario the supervisor was not there but then she came. The supervisor told me that no this is not the way it works. She also said that first of all you came late and then you are asking price. On that I said i know I came late and that's why I am fine that you cancel my appointment as it was my mistake but you cant be so rude. I told her that please call the girl that I was talking to as you don't know the entire conversation and she is not clear about the prices. Then she said that that she is not comfortable talking to you so I will handle this. The girl did not even come and went inside the room. Then she started saying that our rates are on website and that you have asked the question couple of times now we cannot answer. Its better please take a paper and pen and write it down instead of asking us again. The way the supervisor talked was very arrogant and rude. My concern is why was it such a big problem if I was asking just about the price and if it is, they should mention on their website in bold letters " NO QUESTIONS IN THE SALOON PLEASE " I really liked that Salon and recommended it to lot of my friends but the way they talked to me and spoiled my mood I wont be doing that again for sure. You need to know how to treat people otherwise no matter how great services you are delivering you will start loosing your clients.

The stylist who did my hair consult was incredibly rude. I was rushed and spoken down to and felt that I wasn't given the chance to communicate what I wanted. I've never felt that way at a salon before.

Bridal hair and makeup was over priced with what seemed to be low level talent. Bride had trial run and looked beautiful but others hair/makeup lacked. Low lighting in makeup area made it hard to tell what makeup looked like as they we're applying. Aveda makeup and application was extremely lackluster. One girl said she had never worked with liquid eyeliner and another said they did not have gray/silver eyeshadow. Expected much more wow factor for wedding party and fell very short. They charged $60 to grandmother for simple foundation/brows. Most of the bridesmaids hair styles were simple. Mothers of bride/groom hair were worse and not happy with result. Face framing curls flat within an hour, had to redo, bobby pins overly visible, hair falling out of pins, lacking curls and style despite pictures. Some of the party had to redo hair and makeup in part. Overall a disappointment.
