Salon Uni in Bellevue, WA

Very happy to have found Charlie at Salon UNI. He is a pro and I always leave pleased with his service and also happy with my hair. I live out of state but visit every couple of months and now I just wait until I'm in town to have him cut my hair because I only trust him with my locks.

Now located in the Elements building in DT Bellevue, Sola Salon section on the 2nd floor. To be honest, I didn't know what to expect as I hadn't gone in for a haircut for a long time. And my split ends and heavy hair was due for some loving. I was able to read some reviews and decided to book with Charlie. I had to pay a $50 deposit just in case I was a no show. Seemed reasonable to me. Tho his messages showed a sense of urgency which slightly caused me to be anxious, and raise red flags. But don't worry guys. He's legit! Haha My hair was properly cut to equal lengths. It went from crazy lioness, to proper and easy to maintain, light and healthy queen of the jungle hair. That's a good thing. Trust me. I wanted low maintenance hair. The one that you don't have to do anything, and it'll fall back into its magical space and look amazing ... just like in the manga. And boy did Charlie deliver. I was able to get a wash too, and with a 3 minute leave in treatment that made my hair so smooth, I couldn't stop running my fingers through my hair all day. I waited to write this review to see what my hair would look like after I washed it myself, and do absolutely the bare minimum in brushing to see what it looked like... and I'm still the happy jungle queen! May convince myself to do some color or Japanese straightening in the future? But for now, definitely a great find for a place to get trimmed and treated.

Wow! Charlie knows what he is doing, I moved here from San Francisco and had to find and new hair designer, I lucked out and found Charlie. I wanted a haircut and balayage but was very wishy washy with the color. He listened and gave me his expert opinion and I'm so glad I went with it! I've had to regrow my hair from bad cut years ago and was so nervous but Charlie cleaned up my hair and gave it new life! It's got so much movement and feels so good. And the balayage he gave is soooo pretty! It's subltle but so vibrant in the right lighting which is exactly what I wanted. Highly recommend Charlie!!

I had a great experience with Charlie for a cut and color. I found him on Yelp as I wanted a new hair designer. My experience was not disappointing. Charlie was very friendly, attentive and skilled. He listened to what I wanted but also gave great suggestions for both cut and color, and he also gave me great styling tips at the end. The salon was very clean and modern and comfortable. I feel like my hair feels very silky and healthy as well unlike a few other times from other places where it felts straw-like after a lighter color (my hair is very dark). I will be going back! My longtime barber broke up with me and moved to Florida. I am happy for him, but not really, cos it's hard to find a stylist who understands Asian hair. After two mediocre haircuts from a stylist that supposedly caters to Asians, I came across Salon Uni on Yelp. I decided to give it a try. Charlie, at Salon Uni, was very detail oriented. I could really tell that he knew what he was doing. Upon meeting him, he told me that he already looked over my hair and my head and knew exactly how to make my hair look good. He promised to give me a better haircut than what I got last time and he delivered indeed. I really appreciate his taking the time to make sure that I had a good fade on the sides. In addition, he also washed my hair before he started working on it as well as rinsing+conditioning afterwards. Charlie was very professional--the entire experience was very pleasant. Based upon this experience, I have decided that I will be going to him from now on. And just fyi, he did warn me that the appointments get filled up fast, so he recommends to book at least a week ahead of time. Thank you for the fantastic haircut!
