I went a few times because they had one woman who was really good at blowdries. She must've left, though, and nobody else there is anywhere near as good. The place has always been empty, even on Saturday, which tells you something. Don't recommend it.
I travel more than a half hour one way to get my hair cut and colored at Salon D, particularly to see the amazing and talented Lia. It's worth it. I've had nothing but outstanding experiences here, including a cut and single-process color for me and a trim for my husband the week before our wedding...now that's trust. Lia and the entire staff are wonderful and very attentive. The salon is chic, the service is exceptional, and they never push you to purchase any products. However, if you're in the market for some, they sell the Oribe, Deva Curl, and Pureology lines, all great for battling Hudson Valley humidity and caring for curly or color-treated styles. I'm currently loving the "Miami-tested" Impermeable Anti-Humidity Spray from Oribe. I only wish Salon D was closer so I could get a glamorous blow dry more often! Update: Lia is no longer working here, so I've decided to get my cuts and color elsewhere.
This place is everything you always hope a salon will be, and yet rarely is. Warm, friendly, relaxed - the stylists really listen to you and you walk out of the place feeling like a movie star. There's ZERO attitude to be found, from the smiling receptionist to the girl who washes your hair, they're all about taking care of you and making you feel special. Prices are reasonable, too. I had a cut, full head highlights, and a blowout. Couldn't be happier, and will definitely be going back again and again!
