S'Hair-Eng Styling Salon in State College, PA

Would not recommend to anyone. Not sure how you are able to service people if you are not sure on what you are doing. Just needed basic trim, because I am not from around here, and seemed they were asking questions as if to have never been certified. Knew that the job was not done well and t they overcharge for it. My hair looked worse than when I came, with how much more uneven my hair was. I debated on going back to get my hair fixed , but did not want to waste my time anymore as she knew my hair did not look good when I called back. There is no reason a person should have to pay ridiculous amount for such minimal work. It's a shame that they are able to rip people off and the work does not even seem like they simply know how to do a basic trim and press. Them being nice does not take back the work being so disappointing. Have been trying to call back and they start to not answer the phone because they know they are wrong. Would truly not ever recommend anyone going, unless you're okay with under subpar work.

This was a very impressive experience for me. I arrived on time, we started on time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The result was most satisfactory. I'll continue to go to Vivian's Salon for my haircuts. Might even try a manicure!

The staff is great and it feels like back home. The main hair stylist knows how to do natural hair! I had my hair natural hair straightened there and she did a great job.

The staff is incredibly nice and well meaning, but their weave work leaves much to be desired. The braiding technique to VERY elementary. I don't think some of the staff members care enough about their craft to receive training courses at a minimum annually. It seems as if no classes were taken since 2001. Also, you know you are not comfortable cutting hair, you probably should be honest with clients and tell them before you butcher their hair. Most of the time customers will work within your boundaries. Finally, the cost is crazy ridiculous. For such elementary techniques and crappy products you would think the price would be lower, but it is more expensive than getting your hair done at a quality salon. Unfortunately, this is just about the only place to go in this area. At least they offer some form of consistency and are very nice. Just wish they would update their techniques to represent how much they charge.
