Palm Beach Tan in North Augusta, SC

I absolutely love this place! The managers and staff are amazing. I've had bank issues and it messed up my tanning for a a day or two, but the staff would fix it promptly, and make my experience the best. This store is always clean and new bulbs are always replaced when needed. I have been a member for a few years and I won't go any where else!

Cancelling during a pandemic was a nightmare. Ended up being charged (the full $84) even though I couldn't (well, would not) come in for fear of infecting staff and other customers. Buyer beware.

Edited to say that I am really shocked that this place would rather me come in to use their services and potentially infect their customers and employees and lose my business forever, than allow me to freeze my account for one month. This is after they have made thousands of dollars off of me.

I've had my issues with this place, but I've let it go many times. I was treated rudely when they first re-opened and told to "go outside" with no further explanation. I let it go- figured they were stressed and maybe at capacity (there was ONE other person in the lobby). I've been a diamond level member for almost two years and have spend thousands of dollars here- and today I have had it.

I requested that my membership be frozen due to COVID (I am staying home at the moment as cases continue to spike here in the CSRA, and I have been exposed to the virus several times). I was given some run around, but my app updated to show that I would be charged $7.50 on August 1st and that my membership was frozen. Imagine my surprise when I open my account today and see that Palm Beach Tan has taken $83.95 right out of my checking account! Their customer service representative was rude, and her supervisor offered me 'store credit'. I just want my money back since I cannot even come in there at the moment, and they have neither cancelled my account nor taken my payment information off of their server. You are not even able to delete your card information from their app.

Once their customer service people get tired of responding to you once or twice, they just ignore you. I'm a former customer service supervisor and I'm honestly appalled.

I am truly shocked at how they treat loyal, long term customers, and annoyed that I'm having to file a dispute with my bank. Run away from this place. I'll even tell you a secret! Planet Fitness across the street has tanning beds plus a gym for a whopping $30 a month! Additionally, all the products they sell in this salon are marked up by like 300%. You can buy them much much cheaper online.

TLDR: They'll refuse to cancel your membership after you've been a customer for years, and continue charging your account. Buyer beware!

The people are typically nice, but every time I go I end up orange the next day. I've tried a few times in the past, and want to give it one last try. I don't know if they've changed the formula at all since then or not. Has anyone else had this problem??
