Manestream Beauty Bar in West Orange, NJ

Today was my first time, all the communication was very clear from the first step of getting an appointment. I'm deaf so communication is important to me. The owner read my notes and understood to text me only and not phone. Little details are important. I had Fareeah who, was very friendly, professional and focused. She was patient in making sure I understood what was being said. The saloon itself is clean and cute. Parking was easy to find (I had a 11:15am appt on a Wednesday). They offered me tea and everyone from the receptionist office was friendly and welcoming. I got a wash, trim and Bantu knots. They came out cute and neat. I will definitely be returning to this location. The owner also was there and introduced herself. This place feels like family and well run.

I had a great experience with Avian today. She took lots of time to consult with me as I am transitioning to natural hair. The salon is on time and everyone there is very pleasant. I got exactly the style I asked for. Finally I feel like my hair looks perfect!

Excellent ! Everyone was welcoming. Avian the ower was attentive to our troubles and Caryne was very patient whilst detangling and styling my daughter's hair - explaining the process step by step. All in all a very pleasant experience

The owner is very nice and courteous, the salon is clean and welcoming, has snacks available, offers drinks, etc. Very friendly place to visit, however, I do not recommend for a DevaCurl/Cut. I did not complete the big chop and still have some dead ends so I did not expect my cut to be over the top, but the stylist simply did layers, washed, added products, and sat me under the dryer. I've seen so many videos of DevaCut experiences and the stylist try their best to bring your curls to life and add volume which wasn't done here. Maybe it was because my hair still has some of the damaged ends on, but I get my hair curlier at home without paying the price of the Deva experience. I do believe the salon is great at other styles and cares about their clients but I personally would not recommend the Deva experience here. Also, there was a 45 minute wait before being serviced even with an appointment being made which I believe is unreasonable just considering their strict cancellation/appointment policy. While I got my hair washed the stylist also started working on someone else's hair and while I sat under the dryer which led to me having to wait a little while even after my hair was dry. Maybe a little bit more urgency would be nice. Overall, I like the shop but do not think they offer the real DevaCut experience while charging the DevaCut price.

My favorite hair salon/beauty bar. I always leave there feeling fabulous. I highly recommend this place.
