Ysabel's Beauty Salon in West Orange, NJ

This is absolutely one of the best hair salon 's i have been to. First i was wondering if she did coarse hair. I got a blowout and flat iron. In and out in no time. Great environment and music. All these years i been sleeping on a blowout!

As a hispanic woman who is expecting her first child and this was a gift from my husband, I was very disappointed for several reasons. 1. I went to the place because I saw there were good reviews. Yet these reviews of a positive experience must have been done by family members. Ysabel did not color my hair correctly. It was damaged and I am afraid I may have to spend more money to correct the issue. Being pregnant i do not want to the baby as risk again. 2. What concerns me is the owner never returned my calls. The young lady on the phone said she was busy which I understood the day I called the first time but for how long can she be busy? It has been almost a month. 3. How did she get her license? Where did she get her license. This a poor business women who had turn her head on her own. 4. I have to use wigs now to cover up this mess. She has several streaks in my hair. Plus I had to get it cut off since it was fried on the ends. So if you are considering going to this shop. Do not waste your money. The sad part is we are both Hispanic and she treats her own like garbage. This is so horrible. We must lean from our mistakes so learn from mine. Do no let her even wash your hair. I wish I could give it a negative . Not a happy mom to be from her own. Not a beauty salon.

I visited Ysabel's Beauty Salon recently and Ysabel herself (owner/operator) applied my highlights. I've been here on/off over the years + Ysa has always done my hair. This time however, her application was sloppy, inconsistent/uneven and unprofessional. The color was off (almost orange vs the caramel/honey tone we discussed) and the ends were fried/almost white from over processing. An easy fix would have been to apply a warm rinse to soften the tone - which I think we've done in the past. I called 2xs the day of application to discuss it; however Ysabel refused to come to the phone to talk it through nor has she ever returned my calls. The receptionist was in no rush to get me in for a quick fix either. Her lack of concern or desire to please a longstanding customer to execute a quick easy fix (or even have a conversation to hear my concerns) and her lack of response further demonstrate unprofessionalism and immaturity as a business owner. Unprofessional and cowardly.

Very unhappy with highlights done on my hair. After two "fixes" it still doesn't look good. They charged me full price and when I asked for a refund on just the color (I would pay for the cut, though it wasn't exactly what I wanted. And the blow dry) they lied and said the owner was out of the country. I drove by and saw her there. The following week she went on vacation. I contacted them through Facebook as well and they read the message and never replied or called. I'm sad to have this happen because I've gone there before and enjoyed the service.

The staff and owner are very helpful with my hair and super sweet. I have curly hair and Ysabel knows what she is doing when she cuts it. Definitely worth it!
