Luxi Nails & Spa V (Franks Pizza | Panera) in Somerset, NJ

Spend $162 (including tip) to get my old nails removed and a new acrylic set. Coffin shape came out good but after a week and a half I noticed my nails lifting. I dont have time to go back and forth once a week to get my nails fixed and thats what this place expects you to do when you already paid an outrageous amount of money for a new basic set. At week 3 my one nail came off and 70% of my nails were lifted - I had NEVER had this happen at any other salon (even if other salons mess up my shape) my nails never lift at other places and I never had to pay such an outrageous amount for acrylic and coffin nails (I didn't even get a design just a simple color). Finally going in to week 4 I had time so went back to ask them to remove my nails cause they were just awful at this point. They ended up charging me $20. I pretty much spend almost $200 on nails that didn't even last good TWO WEEKS. The audacity to even charge me $20 when they did a bad job from the start is something else. They claim they use better techniques and high quality products and that is false because my nails started lifting going in to week 2 and the price is just insane.

I really liked this salon, but their work is inconsistent. Sometimes they do a great job on my pedicure but give me a terrible gel manicure, or the other way around. And they're always adding extra charges for things like a single nail design for $10 or basic French which is another $20-$25. I'm not saying up-charges shouldn't exist, but it's a lot more than it should be, especially when the techs don't all know how to do designs or French. The place is clean, but some of the techs have weird habits, like using bottle caps of the alcohol bottle to clean their tools and then use the same top to dip a cotton ball to clean my nails- it's actually pretty disgusting. It's frustrating because I used to love coming here to relax and get my nails done, but lately, I leave feeling stressed and disappointed. I don't know if they changed something or if the staff isn't happy, but the quality just isn't the same anymore.

Beautiful, clean spa- much much better experience just as soon as you walk in compared to others around the area. Staff on the phone was super accommodating to our last minute request and super welcoming. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere, and no strong smell of polish like we usually experience other places. We got a classic pedicure, and our appointment was right on the dot at 6, which they were timely with. Manager was extremely friendly and made sure our first visit was one to remember. Highly recommend this place! Its definitely worth the few extra dollars

I have been going for more than 2 years here. I had an issue with my gel manicure. The nails were peeling off. I called to let them know when the first nail stated to peel off and the layer underneath was sticky. They called and said to stop by. I asked what time and they said at 10am but said it is a very nonchalant - like I can just stop by anytime. The next morning I showered and notices more peeling and the peeling was getting caught in my hair as I washed it. I called and explained my issue and they stated I was suppose to come in at 10am but I told them I did not make an appt and was just told to stop by. We set an appt for 11:30 and I told them I was in the area if they wanted to see my nails. I went and showed them. All was good, I came in for my appt at 11:30 and the head person (he was a man) said that this is the second time I had this issue. I said the first time was one nail and I was honest and told him I am not sure if I banged it or how the nail chipped. He stated back then that they pride themselves in their work and it was their responsibility to fix it. I told him I would pay but he insisted that it was their responsibility. This time, I tired to explain that I don't think the nail polish cured or something as this is highly unusual as both hands had major peeling. But he was rude and said they did it for me once and that I did not show up on time at 10am. today and his nail tech was waiting. I explained that no one told me it was an appt. His whole attitude changed, I asked if he was accusing me of anything as that is how it felt the whole time. You know when a company believes in customer service when an issue occurs. I was like what happened to my nails and I was trying to tell them my observations as this will crazy but they did not want to listen. They did not care! Their display of professionalism is all a show, its a smoke and mirror game where profit is more important over basic customer service. He had the audacity to say he will do it this one time. I did not cause my nails (gel nails) to peel. Of course, it couldn't possible be his product or his nail tech that was the issue but me. I caused these nails to peel two days after getting them done. In two years, I had one chip nail and this. When I think of all the people I recommended to them, I feel sad. If he bullies his customers like this, I can't imagine what he does to his nail techs, no wonder the nail techs seems happy or smiles. But I guess profit over all else but an ass is still an ass!

Very calm and relaxing spa-like atmosphere. It just felt so nice. My manicure and pedicure were top quality and precise. I was extremely pleased. Color selections were outstanding!
