I came in today to return a necklace that wasn't mine and it was given to me after I left my necklace for it to be supposedly cleaned and polished. I explained to them the situation they brought 3 people down to look at the situation after moments later the lady tells me that it doesn't add up. I asked well what are you trying to say. She claims that she has been working there for 14 years and there has never been a mistake. Tries to BLAME ME that I brought in the wrong necklace that I might off gotten confused. Then states that her department wouldn't off given me that necklace because it would've came back "beautiful" and that the one I brought in was "dirty" I wore it about 2-3 times before I took it in. The reason why I didn't go in before was because I thought it was just in my head that it looked different but after I compared the pictures and looked closely to the pattern I knew that it wasn't my necklace. Moving forward, they say that nothing can be done because I signed the receipt. Why couldn't they start from there? Why did she had to blame it on me? After all that, she tells me that if I want to leave the necklace. Like what? Why? if there's nothing that can be done. You want to fuck me over twice and leave me with no necklace? Oh and to add on she finally says "you'll love this necklace". Um excuse me? I don't care about this necklace I want MY necklace . If I knew it was going to be like this I would've just cleaned it myself.

One of the ladies there called Pattie gave me and my mom really bad service both times we went there , just for speaking Spanish , second time i went to return some things and didn't even talked to me to see how i wanted my money refunded. We always go thru this experiences and it just really sucks.

I have a soft spot for Penney's.  I can usually find the kinds of clothing items I like, in my weird size, but that's on the website.

I never try to shop for clothes here for myself or my kid because it's such a disorganized overcrowded environment.

I went to this location a few days ago to look at bedding up on the top floor.  I found a few items I liked but not in the right size, so I did a few laps looking for a clerk to help.  Not a single employee on the entire top floor except for one cashier.  She paged someone to come help me in bedding but no one ever showed up.

I left and went to Macy's.  Numerous employees on the floor and I had a very helpful one assist me (although they also didn't have what I needed).

So I went to Dillard's.  Again, numerous employees were in the area I was shopping, and one even approached me and asked how she could help.  I almost started crying it was so nice to actually be helped.  Sadly they also didn't have what I was looking for, but she helped me look up online for the info I needed (basically I was looking at all 3 places for California King sized bedding and, failing to find that, the Dillard's sales girl helped me figure out if I could get away with standard King sized bedding).

I get that JCP is really struggling these days, which is why I went there first, to try to spend some money there to help out.  But if they think having zero staff available to help customers is the way forward, I don't have much hope they'll still be around a year from now.  Sad.

I've always had a pleasant experience here. They had construction going on yesterday, so the escalators weren't available. I felt lost when I saw all of the construction stuff, but appreciated the promptness of the employee that helped me figure out where I needed to go. I've been here several times and it is always clean, well stocked, with courteous employees and good prices. I always recommend it to people when they need to find cute, but affordable clothing.

I never thought I'd be reviewing a department store but I felt this necessary to save someone the trip.
JCPenney was the place to shop when I was younger! Mom would get her shiny gold card out and allow me to browse the clearance racks, maybe even finding something trendy off a mannequin too.
This was not the JCPenney my Mother took me to yesterday when she took me and my teenage daughter.
The store was a wreck, the employees were nowhere to be found, and the selection was awful.
The part that upset me the most was the counter to pay. First of all there was a woman at one counter typing away on a computer, a woman to the other side of her trying to checkout and she just ignored her and kept typing away, no communication indicating that her register was just not open. We walked to another part of the store to two woman behind the counter. The second woman left the counter to assist the other with a price check, understandable. While the other employee was off "assisting," another woman joined us in line, all being patient. Upon the employees return she brought the item up to check, grabbed a few things from the registers, and proceeded to cut in front of the woman behind us and inform her that she was actually behind us in line but had to help out the other employee. I was beyond myself and it was difficult to not say something! Customers come first, always, and if you are off the clock, remain off the clock, and how dare you cut in front of a customer of your own store! Shame on you! We will not be returning to this location, not even to walk through to the mall.
