Great Clips in McHenry, IL

Went to Great Clips on Miller Rd, on 10/30/20, at 3:30pm. Tried the on-line check-in. What a joke. I arrived at the shop for a 14 minute wait. Waited 56 minutes to get in the door, plus another 10 to get a chair. The cutter seemed to have a "chip" on her shoulder. Seemed to take great delight in asking me questions and then talking over me as I attempted to answer her. That lasted about 2 minutes , when I got up and left. Most rude hair cutter ever. Even the chop it off folks in the military were more courteous and professional than her. Might be a while before I get a cut. I would hope that the manager sees this and takes some action.

Very Very upsetting!!!!been going to great clips the past 5 or 6 years here and this one is just the worst.the lady name dezeree needs to be fired.did jot follow the instructions or notes in the system.She also don't know how to use scissors and wasn't holding the razor properly and had shaky hands.I still like great clips just not this location please get rid of her for your own good.waste of my money.

It's been a LONG time since I've cried from a bad haircut. Thanks for breaking the streak, Great Clips. My hair was finally growing out to the point where I actually liked the way it was looking. The problem was that I haven't had a trim since the end of March, so I was way past due. I had been putting it off, but I could put it off no longer. The girl who does a great job on my hair is all the way in Carol Stream. I was hoping to forgo the commute and the cost of a haircut just for a Baby Trim. I figured Great Clips could just do a teeny TRIM, and I told the woman with the dyed cherry feathered hair that that's what I wanted. I told her I wanted it evened out, but that I wanted the least amount of hair taken off as possible. She said to even it out, she'd have to take off 3/4 of an inch. I OK'd it and off she went. I couldn't see what she was doing to the back of my head, but as she got to the side I saw CHUNKS of hair falling off. She hacked off an INCH and a HALF. I was absolutely shocked and pretty speechless. There wasn't much I could do at that point - not like it can be put back on. I figured I could deal with it, and asked her to at least check to make sure it was even. So she did, but I was back 20 minutes later due to long pieces underneath poking out. Not only did I lose the length I said I didn't want to lose, but my hair is uneven. Even after going back a second time there are still long pieces and my hair is flipping in odd directions. I started taking the scissors to it myself. It seems at least a half inch longer in the back, but it's not like I can check that myself. So, tomorrow morning I'll be driving out to Carol Stream and spending more money to have this mess fixed. I should have just stuck with my original girl in the first place.
