Great Clips in Lacey, WA

A great place to go for a cheap haircut....but beware they may accidentally cut you. The woman used the electric razor on me to cut a straight line in my hair from the back. It hurt, but I just assumed she was scraping my neck and it was sensitive. I guess it's my bad for not saying anything. After I left, I checked my neck and it was all cut up. I'm sure the hairdresser must have seen that she was cutting me. I will definitely be more cautious when allowing hairdressers to use the razor on me again. In general, the haircut was pretty good. They cut a bit more than what I asked but it's just hair and will grow back. I asked for just above my shoulders and they cut at least an inch above that.

I took my elderly sister here on Sunday December 4th . She had been in the hospital she wanted to have her hair washed and combed out. The lady took her back to the sink and within five minutes brought her back and said I can't do anything that. So we left and went over to Sports Clips nearby in the same complex, Sports Clips primarily works on men's hair and they gladly took her washed her hair combed her hair out, trimmed it for made it really nice She even braided it for her, I think that the lady at great clips was incompetent and just plain lazy. She couldn't help this elderly lady with her hair and it's a women's beauty shop. It's ridiculous and even I feel it doesn't rate a one star.

Jen Manager is rude, abrupt, unwelcoming, lack social skill, doesn't know how to greet, lack disability awareness, unable to introduce herself, had unpleasing personality and MEAN to family. I would NEVER go there unless there is change of management. I would NOT recommend this place as long as Great Clip has Jen as manager. Had the worst experience from this manager. We have always had wonderful people who treat us with kindness and compassion toward us wherever we go take our Autistic son for a haircut. This happen: My Autistic son went to get haircut, he was seated and left there. He saw the water bottle spray and so he took it and started to wet his hair. (He did this because he likes routine and last time he went to Great Clip, the hairstylist spray his hair with spray bottle before haircut). So my son's hair was wet and had his eyes closed and was not aware that the shaver was on top of the towel in front of him. My autistic son grab the towel to dry his hair. Well, when he took the towel to dry, the shaver that was on the top of towel fell onto the ground. It was TOTAL accident. This would not happen if the shaver was not on top of towel. I was horrified and felt horrible that shaver fell onto the ground and I asked if it is ok or damaged. She left and took shaver by the front desk and came back. I ask her if it was damaged. She told us she did not know but she used the same shaver and completed the haircut. I felt horrible and was willing to pay for any damage or replacement. The stylist was kind, caring, compassionate and said "it's ok" in a genuine tone and provided excellent service and never made us feel bad. Nikki was awesome so this review does not reflect hair stylist. Toward the end of my son getting haircut, the manager (JEN) approached us without introducing herself, she started going off on us in front of everyone in salon, in front of my autistic son, the stylist, and the parents telling us that Salon can't have my son touch the stylist counter and if he touch the counter NO haircut will be given. Basically she was sending message my Autistic son was unwelcome. I was thinking to myself, who is this woman. Jen has horrible anger problem, lack customer service, has unpleasing personality, lack customer service, and just plain mean. Before we left, I gave the stylist $20 tip, provided my phone number to call me if she find any damage/or need replacement. I would be gladly replace or pay for damage. Jen treated my son/parents poorly. Jen should not be talking in front of my autistic son while getting haircut. She fail to recognize that my son's doing so well staying still. Jen was nothing but negative and shaming us. She never try to understand what happen. She just went off on us. My recommendation: 1) Change the manager to someone who is friendly/welcoming/caring. 2) Train the manager about people with disability 3) Don't put shaver on top of towel 4) Train manager not to talk down or shame people in the middle of getting haircut and manager to get anger management training and not to have disruptive behavior while customer getting haircut. 5) Teach social skill and make more friendly and welcoming place by the manager. I will NOT be returning this place as long as JEN MANGER is managing this place. I would feel bad for her employees who has to work under her. First experience with this shop and I am very happy. Tonya gave a great haircut and was very personable. I will go back.

I am so angry with this location still. I went to take my two year old daughter for a haircut. They wouldn't let us in unless she wore a mask. She's 2 years old. She will wear a mask for a second then rip it off. They proceeded to give me a mask that sticks to your face and blatantly says "for children 12 years and up". I didn't feel comfortable putting it on my daughter and she also instantly said "no"‍. The woman then tried to hand me and adult surgical mask for her which fell off of her. By this time I was already stuck outside the complex the entire time, was very annoyed, and they obviously didn't care if I came or went. So I left. I wouldn't bring any kids here or anyone with special considerations. They stated they are allowed to make up any rules they see fit since it is a franchise. I understand how crucial masks are and respect that, but my daughter has no idea about any of that. She's 2 years old. I did not like the way she and I were treated so I wouldn't return to this location.
