Great Clips in Elkridge, MD

I requested a simple Bob that was a little bit choppy. What I got was a '70s shag cut and boy was it choppy. It is so uneven you cannot do anything to correct it. I called Great clips corporate headquarters and was told I would receive a phone call within 24 to 48 hours. I waited the time frame and then called them back. I was told I would receive a call that day. Well it's now going on a week since my first contact with corporate. I should know better than to try a subpar salon that only does haircuts. I think the manager of the store was the one who cut my hair. Her name was Ashlyn. On my initial visit, I signed up online and came to the store when they told me to. When I got there I needed to wait another 30 minutes to get in a chair. I had plans at 6:15. Then when I got in the chair I showed Ashlyn a picture of the cut I wanted. I thought it would be an easy haircut. I just wanted 2 in cut off and the same style that I had before. Ashlyn got distracted by another hair stylist who was having problems with a mother and a preteen daughter. Since she was just distracted I let her take care of the other girls hair. I didn't know this was going to take so long so eventually I said hey I just have to leave and return to finish my bangs. I signed up online at 4:00 and it was going on 6:05 p.m.. My hair is styled like a pixie cut and shag all mixed up. Ashlyn didn't consider the fact that I have a cowlick in the back when layering my hair. Is an inverted bob supposed to be layered? I was supposed to get an inverted bob but instead I have some sort of shag cut that went out of style in the '70s. I also wake up every morning with hair that has to be fixed right away. That hasn't been the case in so many years. I was told this morning, on my third call to corporate that the owner of the shop has three attempts to give me a call back. Well she hasn't called me once. When is this going to get escalated. I want to go get another haircut from some other place but I want to also give great cuts the opportunity to fix this mess. What I'm most perturbed about is I left out of the Great clips feeling kind of happy because the girl fixed my hair with a blow dryer and made it look really pretty. When I got home took a shower I saw how uneven my hair was on both sides and in the back. I have a feeling I'm going to have to get it cut even more than 2 inches more to get even close to the haircut I want it. Sad, the trust you put into a hair stylist who you believe is a manager of a Boutique. All I really want is a phone call to let them know how unhappy I am. Since I can't get that from them I decided to write a review in hopes that no one else goes to The Elkridge Great Clips. I would have been much more satisfied if someone called me promptly to apologize but here it is a week later. I guess you get what you pay for. I will not return to any Great Clips.

I walked in without an appointment. Luckily Crystal who I had been to twice before was free. She asked me what I wanted, must have listened carefully and bam was done. What I like about her is she will ask if the cut is ok and will trim more if not. I had gone to another girl there who had since left and Crystal is definitely someone I trust to do a good job.

My ends were so dry and damaged so when I saw a coupon in the mail for $7.99 I decided to schedule an appointment to take advantage of the discount. When I called I was informed they don't take appointments but that I could check-in online. There was an hour wait so the check-in was great as I was able to time when to leave my house. When I arrived to check-in, I was first in line in the queue. Ashlynn was my stylist today. I got three inches cut off and asked for slightly angled layers. Ashlynn was outgoing and struck a conversation with me. My haircut was super fast! Unlike other salons, Great Clips sprays your hair wet and if you want to have your hair washed it's a separate fee. They also don't blow dry your hair. Since my hair is generally dry looking, frizzy, and wavy when it's wet, it was hard for me to tell how the haircut looked as I usually straighten my hair. One of the other stylist overheard me and Ashlynn talking about how frizzy my hair is even though I've tried every product out there. He recommended Sexy Hair - Strong Sexy Hair Core Flex Anti-Breakage Leave-In Reconstructor. I asked Ashlynn to put the product in my hair as my hair was frizzy. My hair looked sleeker when I got home. Since I am currently using other products I'll buy it at a later time when I've finished using the other products. Unlike other reviews I had a good experience so I'll come back especially if I see coupons in the mail.

Jerri absolute butchered my hair. I asked for a slight trim and then she chopped off most of my hair. It looks like my 5 year old when nuts with a pair of scissors. Chunks are missing, it's not blended whatsoever and is not what I asked for at all. I have no clue how a trim turned into a hack job. I now have to pay over $200 to get extensions to hide this god awful mess. I've cried many hours over this. 2 years of growing my hair out has been completely ruined.

Have been a Great Clips customer for about 10 years now in AZ so when we moved to MD I was glad one was close by. Service is definitely on the lower end compared to the one I used to go in AZ. Stylists are far from friendly and it could be a hit or miss on the quality of cut you receive. I have been to this location twice now, will try few more times and start looking elsewhere if the experience is not better. On the last visit the ladies there where two busy talking amongst themselves and the owner who had stopped by then cutting my hair. There seemed to be a lot of interruptions as the lady was too eager to sign in people walking in the door the focusing on cutting my hair even though there were other employees at the register.
