Gaia Salon Spa in Schererville, IN

We recently moved here from Chicago so I was a little nervous about finding a new Salon. I tried this one out based on Yelp reviews and it has been fantastic!

Judy is my "go-to-gal" for cut, color, waxing, etc. I am thrilled with her work!

I also just met the owner the other day: super nice, engaging, and involved; I love that!

The best Brazilian wax I have ever gotten. I booked last minute and wanted to get in as soon as possible. They said they had an opening with an older gentleman... I paused but then decided what the hell! Tim was incredible. He was very thorough and nice. The room had very much a spa feel which is great. He did not get the backside but I also didn't ask. The price is hefty but well worth it! The best part was ending with a heated towel! Wonderful! I will be returning.

I can't say enough good things about this salon! I am originally from LA and then lived downtown Chicago so am used to the best hair salons. I was a little nervous when I moved to a small town in IN that I wouldn't be able to find the quality and caliber of salon I was used to...then I found Gaia!!! This place is trendy and comfortable and a nice relaxing beautiful environment and the staff and stylists are all awesome and friendly and know their stuff! I walk out of there every six weeks feeling and looking amazing! I even got my husband to start coming and now we both come for our hair and waxing and facials! A full service spa salon that is wonderful...what more can you say? I have been coming here for 4 years now and will continue to come...the only thing that will end my relationship with Laura and her staff is a move to another state!  Thank you Gaia Salon Spa!!!

It has been over a month since I was in for a massage at Gaia, but I still remember how relaxed and "in tune" with my body I felt afterwards! I could use another one right now, as a matter of fact...

In any case, Gaia was able to squeeze me in with little notice, and was up front with me when it turned out that their only masseuse working that day was male. I wasn't worried about that, so I went ahead and made the appointment. I'm not all too familiar with Northwest Indiana, but it was easy to get to and located on a quiet side street close to Highway 30.

The massage room (or one of the massage rooms) is in the back of the salon, towards the laundry machines and other smaller rooms (possibly the restrooms?). That fact is the reason my review is only 4 stars and not 5; I kept hearing doors opening and closing and the washers run during my massage. Now, don't get me wrong - I was relaxed, but not to the point where I could tune those things out.

With those facts aside, I could not have been happier with my massage. I believe the masseuse's name was Tim, and he did a fantastic job. He took the time to ask about my back problems, but it didn't detract from the time or quality of the massage, as he found other ways to work on that part of my back. I really enjoyed that he focused mostly on my back, shoulders, and neck, but also appreciated the brief visits for my legs, arms, and hips.

I've been getting massages since I was 12 (spoiled, I know) and while I love my hometown masseuse, I finally have to embrace not living there anymore. I will gladly drive to Shererville if it means I can keep getting massages here.

I had a haircut and pedicure at gaia. I was honestly a little hesitant of this place because I never received a phoned appointment confirmation. I never realized how convenient these are until I didn't have one. Beyond that my pedicure was wonderful. I love that the pedicure chair is privately placed behind a curtain. Its very relaxing. The foot massage I received was one if the best I have ever had. While it wasn't long the pressure was just right. My haircut was nice also. My stylist and I didn't communicate much but I don't mind it that way. She was friendly enough and I loved her work. For a 28$ haircut I am impressed. I will definitely be back to the salon and am happy that I chose it over other nearby options.
