Despite their amazing Yelp reviews, I was hesitant to try this salon, namely because they have no website and every time I called it went to voicemail. Weird, right? But after a stylist at the Aveda salon in Amherst gave me a pixie cut best described as "Suitable for the fraternal twin sister of Frankenstein's Monster," I left a message on their machine and wished for the best. Well wouldn't you know, wishes DO come true. They called me back, we set an appointment, and I've been getting consistently fabulous haircuts from Jen for almost a year now. Chameleon's is really the best of all worlds. You get attentive, precise, efficient, consistent, million-dollar service, but without any the pomp and pretentiousness of a high-end salon. And did I mention that their mirrors are impossibly clean? SO. CLEAN. I suspect they might actually be portals to other side of a blackhole. (Don't lean in too close.)
If I could give this salon more than 5 stars I would. Michael is my stylist and has been for roughly 24 years. He is wonderful- and listens to what his Clients want and need from their hair cut. The other women who work there are equally talented and lovely to interact with as well. The whole salon is a warm, welcoming place to walk into. And has a professional, yet neighborly feel to it. Definitely recommend that you go to see the folks at Chameleons. They will take good care of you.

Anyone with curly hair (I have 3b/c curls) get your hair cut by Frankie! She's laid back, cuts hair dry and asks if you want it shampooed. She was super nice the first time I got mine cut there and was really nervous so I didn't get the cut I wanted (still too long without a lot of shape). When I called her to she fitted me in at the end of the next day and gave me a hair cut I loved, with layers so it didn't stick out of my head like a triangle. Highly recommended!
