panacea Salon in Northampton, MA

I saw Elise for the first time today. She did a wonderful job with my hair! She was easy to talk to and understood exactly what I was looking for. I loved that she took her time to get it just right. Elise has all the qualities that I look for in a hairstylist! I felt beautiful and pampered after leaving her chair! Thank Elise for an amazing hair cut!

I recently went to Panacea for the first time because I found out that Elise is now there. I've known her for several years and look forward to every appointment. She is the best hair stylist I have ever had, and I say that after having lived in San Francisco, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, and searched high and low for someone with this level of skill. She knows what will work with certain face shapes and personalities but she does not impose her vision at all. She listens very carefully, and she just "gets it." She also spends more time on each client than I have ever experienced--she moves patiently and diligently to get it just right. She is also extremely friendly, easy-going, and fun to chat with. Anyway, I can't say enough good things about Elise. Also, I like the space, lighting, and ambiance at Panacea, so I'm glad that she's there!

I recently got highlights at Panacea by Christi & I am incredibly happy with the results. 1) My hair looks natural & beautiful 2) I have received several compliments on it 3) Christi is down to earth, friendly and I felt totally comfortable in her hands. I will definitely be going back.

Let me be clear--I am reviewing Christi, not the salon, but since she works there Panacea Salon gets the benefit of my 5 star rating. I first went to her over 3 years ago when she was working at Salon Herdis, and loved what she did. She then moved and until this fall I went through a series of traumatic hair experiences. Even after spending a year in Argentina, where the mullet reigns--it was not until I returned and had someone at Salon Herdis cut my hair that I had anything remotely resembling a girl-mullet! I was horrified. So this fall my mother discovered that Christi was back in the area. I promptly made an appointment and had her trim/cut my pathetic, style-less hair. I loved it, and she has such a chill personality that I find myself totally comfortable, chatty, and at ease around her (which was NEVER the case anywhere else I went). When I decided to darken my hair, she picked the color and it was perfect. And when she decided to cut bangs--which I have never had before--I was thrilled with the outcome! She also texturizes my superfine hair while dry, only trimming the length when wet,which no one else has ever done (and which prevents the awful short, medium, and long shelf/layer look that totally doesn't work for me). The salon itself is quite nice, always very mellow, and comfortable. Its a bit pricey--$60 for a haircut (though I think it depends on who cuts your hair), but frankly, having a stylist I trust and never crying over a bad haircut is PRICELESS!!
