In the area for work and needed a haircut. This was the first time in 5 years I've had someone new cut my hair and Michelle did a fantastic job. All of their precautions in place made this a safe and comfortable experience. Highly recommended. They are artists!

I am a recent resident of Orange County and have been looking for a Salon that understands curly hair and offers dry cuts. Thanks to my daughter she found The Art of Hair! She went first and came back with an amazing cut thanks to Madison...then I called to schedule an appointment and coincidentally spoke to Madison she recommended Mia cut my hair and Jessica color it....all I know is that I have the best haircut I've ever had...my hair is full and bouncy and my curls look amazing....then Jessica did my color...she is so talented and achieved exactly what I wanted....The Art of Hair is amazing! Thank you Mia and Jessica....

I have fine, curly hair which is difficult to deal with and seems like a hair type that most stylists don't understand. I lived in NYC for 18 years and went to various expensive and trendy salons. Including THE (so-called) curly hair experts in who have their own line of products - I won't mention their name here - but I left looking like my 8th grade class photo: tiny, crispy, wet-looking curls with no volume and a totally 90's side swoop at my hairline from the clips they stuck there. Anyway, enough about the others. I'm 40 years old and I'm pretty sure Mia gave me the best cut and hair advice of my life. I had resigned myself to believing that I would always have thin-looking curls with no volume. BUT Mia listened closely to what I wanted, liked, and didn't like, and she worked some real magic. I've never loved my hair so much or had it be so easy to style. I did buy some stupid-expensive (30ish$) shampoo, but I only wash my hair every 3-4 days, so I will make it last a long time, and I use it with drug store conditioner and mouse, so it feels worth it. I definitely recommend this salon for curly-haired people!

I got my first haircut with Mia who is wise beyond her years. She listed to my concerns, likes and dislikes and made suggestions that made sense. She took her time cutting my her with care and precision and I really appreciate how conservative she was about cutting my length, thank you Mia, it looks great and feels great. I will return. They also have a great selection of products and aren't pushy about selling them and I loved the ones I purchased. I am very happy to have found a stylist that I feel I'll have for the long haul.

Wait. No. What year did "Best of Hudson Valley" happen? How many years ago? And Just Once? Based on the outdated advertising I went 2 times and found it just not very good or very interesting. Prices are too high, they push pricey products and services, and haircut and color services aren't worth it. Insincere compliments and friendliness all disappeared when there was a problem and my polite suggestion that a slight adjustment to my cut/color would be helpful. You can't be as defensive as the owner is and really want to satisfy customers. It was amazing how fast things turned. Ugh. Not recommended. Don't be fooled like I was with the best of..... nonsense. Also, I suggest a good editor for the website, someone who knows about grammar, syntax, and good composition. As it is, tells more about the place than just the quality of their work.
