Sherri Strandberg recently opened Strand Studio in Bloomington, IL, and it's amazing! My entire experience--from booking online, to calling Sherri for last-minute directions when my gps failed me, to the actual haircut and color--was positive. The moment you walk into the salon, you'll be blown away. It's so pretty! It's the first sign that Sherri is a true artist and does everything with great care and attention to detail. She's also a fantastic conversationalist. Her laid-back personality (and a complimentary beverage--I chose one of those cute, squat cans of soda!) made my time at Strand Studio very enjoyable. As for the haircut and color, Sherri provided a thorough consultation before she began, and she reviewed the photos I had brought in. I wasn't even sure exactly what I wanted, but she helped me to figure that out. She was not pushy at all; she was very focused on what I was comfortable with and what would work best for me. It's been years since I've had any color in my hair, so I was apprehensive about highlights looking too fake or stripey. Sherri was totally receptive to my concern. In the end, I could not be happier with the subtle balayage highlights that she created. I asked for "chic," "fun," and "natural," and she delivered! :) The haircut itself is also superb. Sherri cut my below-the-shoulder hair into a sophisticated, below-the-chin bob. She worked diligently on getting the shape and texture just right. I'm telling you, she's an artist! I definitely found my new hair stylist. :)
