SmartStyle Hair Salon in Sumter, SC

Wait time Evan with an appointment. Wasted my time waiting an hour extra from my appointment time I schedule.Not enough staff for the amount of clients. My time is scheduled through out my day. This definitely through my schedule off. Will find another place next time.

I don't know what made me think that a salon inside Walmart was a good idea. I have naturally curly hair and I recently straightened it and noticed that my ends need to be cut bad. It had been about 5mons or so since my last trim. So I  thought a quick $15 trim wouldn't hurt and the fact that it was bone straight would help whoever was doing it. The lady started to cut my hair the way I had it styled which was flipped over more to one side. She didn't part my hair down the middle until I did it for her and explained that I wanted my hair cut evenly which I thought should have been self-explanatory. She then continued to trim my hair and a couple of minutes later stated that she was done and started to walk up to the register. when I stood up from the chair I noticed a huge length difference from either side. I turn to the lady in the chair next to me and I asked her if she saw the length difference. Her co-worker called her back and told her that she'd have to make sure it was even. If the fact that she was trimming my hair the way I had it styled didn't tell me that she was new then the fact that her coworker had to tell her to even my hair out definitely made it apparent. Regardless, fresh out of beauty school or not you should know how to at the very least trim hair. She definitely cut off more than I wanted since she continuously kept screwing it up.

SN if my hair was curly I would have NEVER went here. And my fiancé wasn't happy when he had seen how much they cut off.

Very pleased with my haircut. Salon was clean and my stylist was very friendly! I will come back when I'm in this area again.

No words! Just DO NOT GO THERE. It will save you a lot of nerves.
Customer service is a foreign word at this place!!!
I didn't expect much, I just wanted to get a quick haircut for my son and not drive all the way to where we usually go. Now I know this was a huge mistake!
We got there, were standing around, until someone finally acknowledged us and made the effort to ask what we want (not like, how can I help you?) We are in a barber shop, so what did  she think we would we want?
I was told that I have to sign in which I did.
We were left standing around there, it was really awkward and uncomfortable. Usually I'd expect to be told how long the wait is or something....but nothing.
The place was really ugly and dirty, there was hair on the floor from the entire morning since they opened (we were there at 3 pm). Some hair was swept and hidden behind the broom, the rest was still scattered on the floor. Disgusting!
There were no available seats to wait. They had seats, but sweaters and jackets were on them and it seemed that they didn't belong to anyone and of course no one bothered to clean this mess up.
Needless to say that we left and drove the way to the barber shop we usually go.
I know that the standards in Sumter are low, but this is rock bottom!
