I went to the Sloane's Beauty Bar on 44th & France and absolutely loved my experience. Lauren G was my stylist and she did a great job listening to what I wanted. I don't trust just anyone with my hair as I had been going to the same salon for over 15 years prior to coming here! Hands down one of the best salon experiences I have had and will definitely be going back!
Jessica is very rude and not flexible. Scheduled an overall color. I wanted my hair dyed two different colors with the top half one color and the bottom half the other color. I understood that I might have to come in a second time to complete the look I was going for but honestly I have never been so rudely treated by a hair dresser before that I immediately found someone else who's more competent. I don't want to stereotype but sometimes having a hairdresser over a certain age is just not the move because they never know what you're talking about unless it's really basic and can be explained in a single sentence. She kept texting me about how she couldn't do my balayage in the time frame. I kept having to tell her that I didn't want a balayage and that I wanted more of a half and half ratio hair dye. I was also confused why I couldn't just come in and get some work done and finish the look another day? Jessica didn't listen to me, didn't offer me any times she was available, and it became a one way conversation as I kept asking questions and offering questions. Should have listened to the other negative reviews. I should not be made to feel like I'm the person who works there as I try too hard to make things work with a staff member who acts like they don't like their job. Honestly I expected better. Will tell everyone I know not to go here.
I'll just start by saying I LOVE how Erica did my hair, she's wonderful at what she does and she's very personable - I've been going to her the last few years. However, out of around the 2 dozen times I've had hair appointments, about 10 of those appointments have been rescheduled last minute, cancelled, had scheduling mix-ups or just plain forgotten. I am a very understanding person, and I know the pandemic has thrown a wrench in everyone's lives but this has been going on pre-COVID. I've never dealt with that many changes in appointments that I make months in advance. It's just very frustrating and disappointing. I'm so sad about it, but I have to cut ties here completely.
Love my new hair salon and Tara!!!! She is soooo good! And fun to talk to. They are very Covid-conscious too. I've only been a couple of times but I will be going back for a long time!
Don't waste your time, literally! Sloan's called 6 minutes before my appt to say Tara was "running 5 min behind." They suggested I could still arrive at my scheduled time but that I might have to wait a few minutes. 25 minutes later, and no update from the salon, I was still waiting and had to cancel my appt because I had other mtgs after my haircut. This was going to be my first appt at Sloan's and it was very disappointing. Very unprofessional!
