RITUAL in South Lake Tahoe, CA

Getting back on the healthy train was difficult this year for me. I gave Ritual a try on Saturday morning. I feel a lot better. It raised my spirts to be among fellow Yogi's who have a passion for physical and mental well being. Ember was a wonderful leader and the atmospere felt more tribal and connected then most Yoga studios. A great home for Yogis to find their tribe. I want to try all the other wonderful services offered.

I'd like to start this review off saying that I appreciated Ember seeing me last minute and taking me after hours... however the service I received was beyond terrible. This lady cannot do braids. She charged me $160 for an hours worth of work only for the braids to come out 2 hours later... I politely asked for a partial refund as I was appreciative of her time however she was extremely rude back blaming me for the quality of my braids? Then I asked for a full refund of which she refused and then stop responding to me. Very unprofessional. Do not see Ember for braids she has no idea what she is doing. She claimed my hair isn't long enough yet I get my hair braided 3-4 times a year with no problem. On top of that I've never paid more than $50-60 for braids. $20 per braid is RIDICULOUS especially for someone who clearly cannot braid. And then also blaming it on me not wanting products in my hair? I've never needed gel for my braids before. Again Ember clearly lacks the skills and should not offer braids as a service. I am still waiting for my refund...

Ember has quickly become the only person I trust to cut my hair. I want to do some of the events in this cute little space, I'll update once I do!

First of all, I started seeing Ember when she was at another location. She moved to her own location now and the space is great! Hair: I have naturally curly, thick hair which in itself I have to go to see someone who really knows what they are doing. At Ritual, have had keratin treatments, haircuts, root touch up, highlights, etc. and I love the results and always get compliments on my hair!! The products are mostly organic (except keratin because there is not an organic one but Ember uses the most natural one she can find) plus she can get you quality hair products to keep your hair looking good afterwards. Body: I have been getting regular (I try to do weekly) Thai bodywork done and have done the full Ayurveda protocol with Ember. She is amazing.... I am a very active person and I've had very few injuries in the several years I've been doing these sessions which always resolve quickly through the bodywork plus it's super relaxing. I got my husband into this and he always says you get 2x as much treatment in one session than other massage therapists can do in one. Spirit: Finally, I have to say Ember is just a great soul and interesting person so being at the studio itself is re-energizing. Oh and there is yoga, other practitioners, apothecary (lotions and tinctures).... I could go on all day about how wonderful Ritual is but I highly recommend you go see for yourself :)

The best Thai massage ever, I have been to dozens of places. Also a full service salon as well so you can get it all done in one place. Ember is awesome -- go see her!!
