I love this salon and feel special when I arrive. I am greeted with a smile, a beverage of choice and a cape. The atmosphere is light and lively. Gwen does an amazing job with my highlights and haircuts. She cuts my hair the way it looks best on me. I highly recommend this salon. I don't think it's anymore expensive than any other quality salon.
Robert, yes my name is Sam and Monica is my middle name that I use for Yelp....I can't believe the reply I got from you ......Hannah was my hair stylist and now she is lying ......I came back to get a warmer richer highlight for the fall that had copper tone and brown tone... so she apples a toner instead and overall made my hair jet black.....As she was blow drying my hair I noticed how dark my hair was and she stated " I see some light color" .... Than she continued saying she saw some light color.....she was trying to justify her mistake....she also stated she will give me a clarifying shampoo to wash this dark color out....she said it would be no charge than she got Gwen the owner to speak to me. She was nice at first ,but than was trying to get snippy with me.....Gwen also said she saw some light color which was a complete LIE......yes they wanted to correct my hair and I for surely didn't want Hannah to touch my hair any longer...Gwen stated to come back and that Hannah can fix my hair and that she would be there to assist her....I can't stand being lied too and I've been to your salon many times with no problem and leaving nice tips......now your telling me I can't return to your salon as if I made a seen.... I had went to another salon right after my visit and they told me my hair was jet black......also when Hannah grabbed Gwen to explain the situation that I was not satisfied, Hannah apologized to me and stated yes I can't believe the toner made her hair this dark.....so she admitted to her mistake and now I'm not welcome! Unbelievable! I never wanted her to use a toner in the first place. I just wanted a different color highlight........I left a very small review and now I had write what really happened......I never had a problem with any hair salons...I just know to stick with places that are more reputable such as Mario Tricoci...... This Riah Salon is not what I expected.
I went on their website to make an appointment with a certain stylist. She had two different timeslots for today so I booked the earlier one. The website even asked for my credit card number which in my opinion is absurd. About an hour and a half later I received a phone call from the salon saying she doesn't have any availability. In fact, there is no availability with any stylist today. Very disappointing to say the least
It truly is not a salon it is a wonderful experience. From the moment you are greeted by Nellie at the front desk until you walk back out the door. Gwen is the best. Caring & personable. She makes each of her clients' satisfaction her top priority. And the head, neck & shoulder massage. Delightful!
I was hesitant about getting a hair trim as I'm trying to grow out my hair and I'm new to St. John so I had no rapport with any salon in the area. However, I'm so glad I gave Riah a chance. Hannah, my stylist, was amazing because she listened to everything I said and cut off just enough to give my hair a new life. Plus she gave me some tips to keep my hair looking healthy in between cuts.
