Nina Nails in Middletown, CT

Worst salon ever!  If I could give zero stars I would.  Nothing about it was good. I tried 3 times to try and explain what I wanted. They were very dismissive and unresponsive. I asked if anyone spoke English because I didn't feel they understood my wants. No response. I should have walked out right then and there.  I made it VERY clear I did not want a gel pedicure. The water was cold and they kept switching techs. They said it would last 3 months which I knew could not happen because nails grow.  A month later I went to another salon and they had great difficulty removing the polish. When I asked why they said it was gel! I was very angry knowing I specifically told them no gel. I also had to pay extra for them to try and remove the gel and they did their best but couldn't get it all off.  I didn't know any better when Nina's was putting it on but had remembered the awful time many years ago when I had gel and it took 6 months to get it off. When I went back to Nina's to confront them and asked for my money back, they refused. They pretend they don't understand English but if you say something to someone else they start talking in English to defend themselves. I told them I was going to call the cops which I did. They said I had to leave and I waited in the parking lot. I knew the cops couldn't do anything, I just wanted to give her a wakeup call that she can't treat people that way and be unethical. While I was waiting outside she stood in the doorway and did this voodoo cleansing ritual by waving incense or something through the air, then threw out a powdered white substance all over the ground and then threw "holy water" in the air. All of it very bizarre. I would never go there again and recommend all to stay away. Very rude, unethical, lack of cleanliness etc. Look at all the bad reviews they receive. When the cop came and went inside to talk to her, I stayed outside and he came out and said she was very uncooperative to the point of even refusing to give her name. Ugh! They will never last treating people that way.

Worst place ever . They are money hungry and just down right rude. I paid almost 200$ for mani and pedi just to have the nails break less than a week later and was told I hoard money and should be tipping her better but while there she receives a call from the IRS stating she hasn't paid taxes since 2018 . I asked for multiple designs and was told no and had to accept what she wanted for my nails not to mention the pedicure was horrible the water was cold and I had tougher feet than when I went in this place is horrible and I chose to come here even after hearing bad things about Nina doing black face and being racist please just avoid this place at all costs

Went there for a fill left with polish that wasn't dry and was peeling off my nails and looked horrible. After convincing from literally everyone that saw I complained and she redid them to a solid color, while blaming me ( the design I wanted was too complicated, too many colors, I didn't let it dry probably because she would let me keep it in more than a few seconds) I simply wanted a black v over red (my high school cousin can do that) While fixing it she again globbed the paint on and didn't let it dry. Both times the polish got all over my hands when I left. The day after them being fixed 3 broke. When I complained she refused to give my money back. When I went there she offered 30 and claimed she didn't charge me for designs as though that was my fault as well.  Not to mention the place is completely unsanitary and needs a visit from the health inspector, no tools are cleaned. The same trash was in her table from the day before (24 hours later). Will never recommend, the worst service I have ever experienced.

Tony did my ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS nails . I got so many compliments, it's crazy. Tony is only there I think some  Sunday's. He was telling me he owns another business in New Haven so that's why he helps out Nina. I wouldn't seek him out tho he is a busy man. I love when Louis or Nina do my nails. They do pretty much what I want but they add spice to it. So cuteee. I've been coming for years and years and they never disappoint. They have a funny humor. Love the environment here. They da best!!

Went to Nina last Thursday for a fill. She insisted I do a design so she did the cat eye on all fingers and then said she would include a snowflake on my ring finger. She charged me $43. Friday afternoon I noticed a slight crack in the acrylic on my pointer finger. By the time I woke up the next morning the crack was all the way across my nail. Friday during the day, the acrylic that cracked ended up splitting my actual nail. I had to cut it off before I started to bleed. I grabbed an envelope at work and my middle finger broke off right at the end of my real nail. This is my right hand, now onto my left. I noticed a crack in the acrylic on my ring finger (couldn't even believe it!) I grabbed an Amazon envelope off of my porch and my middle finger broke off (my real nail along with it) and so did my ring finger. They lasted a total of 4 days, that's it. $43 for 4 days worth of nails is ridiculous to me. Now I had to pay for another salon to remove what she had done and do a whole new set. So upsetting! I will never return. If I could give no stars, I would! Merry Christmas to me
