Michael Francis Salon & Day Spa in Middletown, CT

I called this salon to make an appointment for a 1 hour therapeutic massage. I asked the receptionist for a 2:00-3:00pm appointment on a saturday. The receptionist told me that time slot was already booked but she could give me a 3:00-4:00pm appointment on the same day so I accepted it. A half hour later I get a call from the owner, named Carol, who told me that since they close at 4:00pm my 3:00 scheduled time slot would be too close to closing so she suggested I could come at 2:00pm instead. I told her that the receptionist said that time slot was already booked. Carol fiercely told me "I'm the owner, I know how to book appointments". So I agreed to come at 2:00pm. I arrived on time and the receptionist told me the massage therapist would be right with me. At 2:15pm I was still waiting so the receptionist repeated that my appointment would start soon. At 2:30pm I was still waiting and getting concerned. The massage therapist finally came to get me at 3:00pm and apologized for me having to wait an hour. I explained to her that the owner changed my appointment from 3:00 to 2:00 even though apparently the 2:00 was already booked as originally stated. I was so distraught. I did not understand why the owner had mistreated me and lied about the schedule. Ultimately, my massage went for 1 hr until closing.  I would not go to this salon again. Apparently, the owner likes to tightly control customers and make unnecessary requirements. I wouldn't give this salon any stars for unprofessional behavior.

Came in for a designer foil I heard about through a friend. This salon was huge, I got a tour of every room from one of the assistant stylists with was super sweet. The foil itself only took about 45 minutes and I'm absolutely in love with the highlights. Super noticeable and they didn't even need to be toned which was awesome. The staff here are really eccentric and sweet, I definitely plan to come back for more foils soon :)

I've been coming to this salon for 10+ years now, the salon never disappoints me. The staffs are very friendly and Michael Jr. is my hair stylist, he does it perfectly with his laser cut, I wouldn't trust anybody else...

2 weeks ago, I decide to go BLONDE for this summer! Michael Jr. and Grace did such a great job, I love it! With their suggestion, they also added some ombre in the front for free. I've got so many compliments from it.

Anyway, highly recommend this place and they'll give you exactly what you want and they are the true fashionista!

I have been a client of Michael Jr's for 5+ years and wouldn't trust another person to cut my hair! He always does a fantastic job. He is funny and pleasant to talk to, as well as meticulous and attentive to detail. This is a family owned business and they have always treated me kindly. I would highly recommend this salon.

I'm really surprised by the negative reviews! I've been going to see MIke Sr. for approximately ten years now, and have been nothing but pleased with the service. Sure, it's pricey, but I feel like it's worth it to feel good and look good when you leave! The stylists at this salon keep up with the latest trends in hairstyles and color, so you will never leave looking dated. I've never been treated poorly by anyone at this salon; and will keep going back!
