Nenette Beauty Salon in San Diego, CA

I was very satisfied with my haircut and hair color. Nenette did an amazing job! She's very professional and friendly. She kept her salon nice and clean. I highly recommend this place.

The place had an open sign and everything but we're closed. There was a bag of trash hanging out across from the doorway too which was gross. When i walked up to open the door it was locked... a lady then came out and told me they were closed. Complete waste of my time.

Nenette's is amazing! She has a talented team! Whenever I get a haircut by either Nenette herself or Dorothy I barely even have to style my hair. It just falls into place after I wash it with minimal blow dry styling. I have been coming here for over a decade and absolutely love it! Everyone here is very friendly and the salon has a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place!

Definitively I will come back! I have never been in the Philippines but this place transports you to some hair salon there, where all the ladies customers are also friends withe Nenette, the owner, and all speak Filipino no matter many customers are actually Indians! I heard about this salon through Indian coworkers that love the layers they get here. I was just rebounded from Bombay Fashions as they did not have a hairdresser that day and this place is so close also in the Little India area of Miramesa. It was a fantastic experience (except for the cash only, even though they have the stickers at the door where they say they accept all major credit cards, so I had to go and find an ATM after all). Nenette is really good at what she does and very friendly. Looks like hard worker, also her helper did not stay inactive for a second during the 4 hours I stayed there doing my hair straightening and cut. The price was very reasonable and she took me right away. Literally half price than in fancy salons. Besides, I like this unpretentious type of place. She looks very popular given the amount of customers I saw during my hours in the salon. I would not do nails there as the products seemed to be a bit outdated and more decoration than anything else. I will recommend this place for a great haircut with a very personalized touch.

WORST MANI/PEDI EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Everyone that knows me knows that I am a very vocal person and not very patient. With that said here's what happened. I just recently got engaged and wanted to get my nails done so that when everyone asks "Let me see your ring" my nails looked nice and presentable. I had an appt at 5pm on Friday and I arrived at 4:55pm. When I walked in it was FULL of aunties sitting around hanging out just talking, being very loud and annoying. There was only ONE person working which was the owner who was cutting someone's hair. She said that she's almost done and to have a seat. I know that's code for like 10-15 min so I sat down and waited. 5:15 pm- she was still cutting the aunties hair didn't look anywhere near being done. I started fumbling in my purse for me keys to get her attention and show her that I'm leaving. She looked at me and said again that she's almost done. I looked at my phone and said ok I'll wait. 5:30 pm- she's just started blowing drying the aunties hair =/ Seriously?! I took my keys out of my purse and was getting out of my chair when a lady magically comes from the back with the foot spa thing full of water and tells me to put my feet in. I paused for a moment and decided to stay and give this place a try, especially since it was so late already and I wouldn't be able to get in anywhere anymore at that time. 5:45 pm- she's done with the auntie so I'm taking off my jacket so she can start on my mani but NO she takes another auntie and does her freaking eyebrows. WTF?!!! WHO DOES THAT? At this point I was livid but something inside me told me to stay calm and just breathe. I'm usually a very vocal person and not very patient but for whatever reason today something was holding me back from being that person and I just stayed calm, quiet and did a lot of breathing. Still livid and pissed I kept the straightest face I could. FINALLY at 6:05 pm she started my pedi. THE WEAKEST PEDI EVER! She didn't scrub my feet and didn't massage. She basically cute my toes nails and washed my feet. She asked me what color I wanted and I asked if she did Shellac. She said she only does French manicures. SO WHY THE HELL ASK ME WHAT COLOR I WANTED? I said fine. So she traced the tip of my nail with the white polish. Yes, she traced my nail. I could have easily done that at home. During this whole time the aunties are still in the shop talking, dancing, hanging out like they were in their teens. 6:40 pm she starts my mani. Same thing, weakest mani ever. She washed my hands, cut my nails and did a horrible job attempting to cut my cuticles. Traced the tips of nails with white polish. She didn't even do it evenly but at that point I honestly didn't care anymore and wanted to get the F@#! out of there. I just rolled my eyes and paid her what she told me and got the hell out of there. Because she only put one coat of clear coat on top my nails were already dry by the time I got to my car. My polish had already cracked by Saturday morning and today my nails look like I have had them for over two weeks =/ I have never had that bad of an experience getting my nails done EVER! Being a mom of two, heck a women in general, getting your nails done is your me time. Time to unwind, relax and be pampered. This place was horrible. I will never go to this place again and I would never recommend it to anyone. ONE STAR!!
