Salon Ardor in San Diego, CA

Finally found my new stylist! I haven't had a cut in over a year since my former stylist moved out of state. I have very long hair and I've been dyeing it  at home but it's just not the same as getting pampered at the salon by someone who actually knows what they're doing! I searched for a salon in my neighborhood and Salon Ardor came up. Booking appointments was super easy online and they send reminder texts as well.  I chose Robynell because she had an easy-going smile in her pic and I liked her face.  Her style and portfolio on IG also fit with what I was looking for. The salon was busy but everyone was having a great time.   I was immediately greeted with a smile by another stylist when I arrived and checked in quickly. My spot was personalized with my name and I was offered refreshments. They have a water and ice machine AND a coffee machine in the waiting area. They also have an extensive collection of hair products in the front as well. All the girls working at Salon Ardor are gorgeous and sooo nice! They have a good team and you can tell they really enjoy working together.  I was a little nervous coming to a new place and meeting a new person but Robynell put me at ease instantly. You know how you can tell if you like someone the moment you meet? That's how I felt with Robynell. She listened to what I wanted and made some suggestions that I agreed with. I got a root touch up, long layers with curtain bangs and a blow out. Best shampoo ever! She has magic hands. I was so relaxed, I almost fell asleep.  Conversation wasn't forced and she's such an easy person to talk to. You can tell she really has passion for what she does and making people beautiful is her calling. Prices weren't bad for the quality and atmosphere. Venmo or cash tips are preferred so I'll remember that for next time. Before leaving, I booked appointments with Robynell through the end of the year and I will continue booking with her forever! I'm so glad that I went to Salon Ardor and found Robynell. She has a client for life.

This is my second review on this  salon. I cannot say enough about how wonderful experiences are there! Today I had someone different named Cherry. I tend to get nervous when I have someone new. But this was the best possible person that could've helped me outside of my comfort zone. Cherry is kind, lively, and full of good vibes.  I am mixed , with textured hair and she dove in like I was Goldilocks! Lol. She's also the new standard for phenomenal shampoo bowl head massaging . Thank you for the awesome experience Cherry !

Another great haircut from Alli! The hair wash a my favorite part as she always takes extra time to give my scalp a nice massage.

So glad I found this spot! Everyone is SO friendly in a genuine way and go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable and are having a good experience. A plus is great communication which is super important when trying to explain exactly what you're looking for so you get the look you want. Additionally, you can tell they use high quality products. The salon is also conveniently located -- need to drive around for parking -- which is always a plus. Alli helped make my hair wedding-ready, thanks so much!

I had my first appointment at this salon with Tania. She was recommended by the receptionist as a " more experienced" stylist and an available appointment the following week.  

Tania didn't appear to be interested or enthused about having a new client. I explained to her that I wanted to keep the same style as what I had but to make a few adjustments. I showed her a picture of the front of the cut that I had done before so I knew it could be done. The style is one length and even all the way around with short layers throughout and tucked behind my ears. The cut is not asymmetrical.

She thought I was describing a stack and said she doesnt do those.  I told her that was not what I was describing.  She then said it sounded like I wanted a mullet.  I was speachless. I expected a level 3 stylist charging $80+ dollars for a haircut to be more experienced and to know the difference between " take a quarter inch off the bottom" and a stack haircut. She said " I will do my best" I decided not to proceed and she agreed.

I give 2 stars and not one because she was atleast honest in her abilities.
