The place was clean and Narissa was very professional and helpful. She did a great job on my color and cut.
Go there occasionally. High turnover shop, it seems. For the young budding barber or stylist, I imagine it's not the place you intend to retire from. Got there at 4:28 and put my name on the list. 2 others there, but one could have been waiting for someone. Place advertises closing time on at 5. My usual barber was sick that day, so since I was in the area and was gonna be out-of-town, I needed just a quick touch up. So I sat down and started on a copy of the "Wall Street Journal" (nice touch)! In walks a guy with minimal hair at 4:34 and he approached the sign-in sheet. One of two barbers informed the guy that they were full up for the day and would not be able to get him in, since they closed at 5 PM. The guy mentioned that the sign says "5 PM" and he drove in from Amboy...about a 12-14 mile drive by my reckoning. The lady was adamant stating that she's been cutting hair the whole day, and the potential client made reference to speaking to the manager/losing business. Obviously he felt that it the door is open, and there's no policy that says "sorry, no clients taken 30 minutes before closing", he should get his hair cut..and I could understand his point. But since no such policy existed...I figure the guy was entitled to get his haircut. That you've been cutting hair all day is not HIS problem. It's irrelevant if he strolled in from some bar down the street or caught an afternoon flight from Spokane...sign says "5 PM", then 5 PM it should be. In my humble opinion and amateur student of economics. So since I've had a previously bad experience here (and some good ones [let's be fair], from barbers who, unfortunately, move away rather quickly), told the guy to take my name and take my seat. I voiced my mild dissatisfaction with their service, told the guy to grab a chair, and I'd get my haircut elsewhere. And I did. Asian lady at a shop about 100 yards away on Gher Road, open till 6 and dee-lighted to take my cash + tip. All with a smile that beamed "customer service". Two stars because while I've had adequate haircuts in the past, this is the second episode of "poor service". One star was for having a copy of the "Wall Street Journal" on hand.
Great service. Inexpensive. My youngest son will only get his hair cut from Melodies!
I am new to the area I went in, was not greeted with a hellor or how are you rather SIT DOWN. I did so, then reluctantly wanted to know the cost but was too afraid to ask, So I then finally was brave enough to ask if they take a debit card as most busineses do, she snapped a reply, cash machine which they had in their salon, or check. I did not feel comfortable or welcome. I totalled the card said mens hair cut $6.75 plus tax so figure they lost out on around ninety dollars a year from losing me as a customer. I do not do business with anyone who is not friendly. I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere. In five years they lost out on $450.00 dollars as I plan to live here and fortunately found a place that said welcome when I first went in the door. This place needs nicer people skills in this economy. I would suggest you drive father down fourth plain just past SR 500 theres a nice place on the right that charges $8.00 but they are friendlier and take a debit card.
Worst customer service I've ever experienced. They butchered my hair and the lady was talking trash about other customers the whole time. She was also rude to me. Made the foolish mistake of paying for the ridiculous haircut she gave me plus a tip. Tip: No haircut from this place is worth the low price they charge. You're far better off paying $15 for a semi quality cut and excellent customer service elsewhere.
