This was a tough one to rate because the salon itself is a mess but there is a hidden gem. Maria needs to hire some one to clean and keep it clean. Go and ask for Mauro. He is the reason I rated the salon so high. He is extremely talented and has a great personality. He gave me a great cut and style and I've seen before and after pics of his coloring work. Cut and style was $40.
A truly terrible experience. Took my girlfriend and her daughter to get their hair cut and styled for an upcoming wedding. After digesting the mess that was the shop (hair covered the floor, equipment a mess, and Maria engulfing a sandwich), my gf and her daughter were taken back for the styling. When they emerged some time later, each had received an attractive trim on par with Hair Cuttery. I noticed my gf had a few spots the scissors had missed so she disappeared again for a touch-up. Now, the shocker. As I prepared to pull out my credit card, though I wasn't happy about it, I was fully expecting a bill on par with a "nice" salon ($150 - $200). As I looked up from my wallet, I was delivered the blow; $500!!!! I resisted but Maria carefully itemized all the "work" and costs for me, much of which was utterly outrageous. I had no choice but to pay the bill and get out of there. I knew I had been taken advantage of, but I knew I had no recourse at that point. While I'm still out the $500, I hope I will save some of you the headache. Needless to say, lesson learned. Always determine the full cost prior to the work. Oh, and make sure the quality is on par with cost. My recommendation, look elsewhere.
