first time at salon. my nails look good but disappointed in the polish. I chose a marble gel but only one color in polish. attendant said it will show up?? still waiting. $50 for a new acrylic set with gel polish seems expensive. not sure if I would return.

I love getting my pedi here ever since it was owned by the old owner. Yes they recently had renovations (which is extremely nice now) under new ownership with a price increase. I don't know why people are shocked, that's bound to happen in businesses!
I have been going to Lyly's for several years now, and they always were friendly and provided great service. I usually always walked in, and I was accommodated. Today I went in just for waxing and had to wait at least 20 min even when they were not super busy. While I was waiting I noticed that on the price board the prices had gone up. I figured that it happened because they had to pay for the renovations they recently completed with the new ownership. While getting waxed, I asked the technician how much a gel manicure and pedicure was now, and she told me it was $47. I used to pay $42. A $5 increase for that as well as an increase for waxing would put my overall bill at $8-$10 more. That is a bit steep for me. Again I asked the technician if they had lost business, and she said they had lost some customers due to increased prices but claimed their prices were similar to others in the area. I don't know about that, but I know that I will be checking out other places to go to because it is too expensive here now, and it does not have that warm and friendly vibe it used to. I guess renovations don't necessarily make a place better sad to say.
