Lux Nails in Northborough, MA

Just wanted to update my review with today's manicure by Thao. These are just so perfect and I always leave this salon loving my manicure! Thank you!

This is the best nail salon in the area. Great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. And staff is so friendly!!! They also can do designs and kill it every time!! Thao did my designs but everyone is awesome!!

I went to get my nails done for my 21st birthday. I just wanted a basic square rounded French full set. The lady did not listen to my requests and even made commentary to my choice of nails. She was doing my set based off of what she wanted and her likes. Both my hands are two different shapes and different lengths of French. I asked her politely to do my cuticles and she responded with "you have no cuticles" when I could clearly see them. She was also laughing at me when I asked for medium size nails but then gave me shorter than what I asked for as well as laughing because I wanted thin French instead of thick. On top of that I tipped but got charged an extra $3 in tip without my knowledge. I completely understand some places may include a 15% tip automatically but not letting the customer know and then receiving another tip is wrong. Another thing, I could tell she didn't exactly know what she was doing and another nail tech was looking and was making a face like she should say something but chose not to. I'm am disappointed and sad about my nails as my birthday is tomorrow. I usually go here and I like the place but I am disappointed at how they act towards you. Only a select few are amazing at the job and actually respectful towards clients. If you want to do acrylics or dip I would ask for someone who specifically knows how to do a good job. Nails are very expensive and people shouldn't be leaving disappointed after paying 100+ What I got vs. what I asked for.

I had a visit scheduled for Monday 9/4 that I booked through vagaro. I planned my day around going to this visit to treat myself to a lux pedicure after a long weekend. I got there and they were closed due to the holiday. I reached out to the business to tell them that vagaro let me book the appointment and I went there. They blamed vagaro and stated that they could not do anything to make this right for me on their end. I was a frequent customer but after poor customer service like this I will not be returning.

Luxe USED TO BE great, but the past two years their service level has nosedived while their prices have done the opposite. I had naked nails and wanted dip for the summer. I know how busy it is so I made an appointment. When I arrived I was told to pick a color, but the dip vs. Gel colors were not labeled and a complete mess. I waited for 45 MINUTES!!! Then the lady charged me for a manicure even though my nails were naked. She had my nails soaking in that damn dish for sooooo long while she was chatting up the other technicians that my fingers were freezing prunes!! She had a wicked attitude and did an ABSOLUTE HORRENDOUS job. You could visibly see the polish brush streaks and it was like a big bubble of dip powder on my nails, absolutely horrendous. The entire process from appointment to exit was 2.5 hours and $58!!! Ya, no thanks. Get a grip luxe, you have way too much competition around to be acting a fool. SMH
