Moved to Michigan last year and needed to find a new stylist. Saw Jenn W. yesterday and she was terrific. Jenn is really good with hair and lovely person. The salon is a darling little cottage and all of the staff were very friendly. Love that I can purchase favorite Aveda products as well!
I have been going here since Brittney opened it a few years ago. It's relatively small, only 5 chairs I think. BUT, it and all the employees have a BIG presence. This salon is life. It's beautiful in this place. Stylishly decorated, seasonal decorations, and always clean. The products are the best around as they exclusively carry Aveda products. You get a scalp/shoulder massage with a hair wash, they always have refreshments, and sometimes little snacks out as well. If you somehow aren't happy with your hair, they'll fix it and get it right, but I don't think people leave there unhappy very often. The service and work there are honestly excellent. They also offer eyebrow waxing, and they've always done an excellent job. Lastly, if you have grown your hair out to donate, they are able to take care of that whole process for you. My daughter grew her hair out to donate to kids with hair loss, and Brittney took care of the hair donation so I didn't have to drive somewhere else to drop it off. Seriously, if you're looking for a new salon, give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
Instinct Salon is a full Aveda product salon on Telegraph in Flat Rock, right by Big Bear Lodge Restaurant. I have been a customer since the owner Brittany opened. I am a client of Abby and go for cut and touch-up color every 5wks. Great place to go and get pampered, very relaxing and other than music they play, is pretty quiet which I prefer over a salon so noisey,overbooked, chaotic, after all, this should be all about you, your not there to hear about every one else's business!!! Abby is just fantastic and such a talented young woman, always so very pleased with results, and did I mention sweet and gives great advice and suggestions that always seem to work out with me!! Everyone at Instinct Salon are great at there jobs, Brittany and her girls rock out some good cuts and styles.The prices I think are good, maybe even a few bucks cheaper. I highly recommend Instinct Salon, they take walk ins which is good for the guys just getting off work and needing a hair cut on their way somewhere, this place is the real deal people!
