Hana Nails & Spa Inc. in Ewa Beach, HI

Here on vacation and needed my nails done before an event the following day. Been reading reviews and found Ms. Kim the best nail artistist/technician at this establishment. I was in luck and was able to get Ms. Kim to do mine. I had acrylic tip and ombre finish. She did such a wonderful job! Coming back to her when I come back to visit. Thank you Kim!!! I just want to start off with saying the only reason I'm writing this review is because I don't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. I usually to another salon but was in Ewa area two days ago on Thursday and had a bunch of time to kill before getting picked up. went in for a pedicure and told the lady I had an ingrown toenail. She proceeded to get it out, but once it was done, kept carving my toe like a thanksgiving turkey. I was near tears writhing in my seat and asked her to please stop. She kept proceeding and even laughed a little when I kept asking and told her she was hurting me. Finally I asked her again and she stopped. She continued with the rest of my pedicure but showed no mercy to my now bleeding toe, being rough with it while filing the nail and painting it. When she was done I could not believe what I was seeing, an actual chunk of my skin was missing and my toe was so swollen I could hardly walk after. It felt so terrible all day and throbbed so badly I couldn't sleep. The next day I woke up and my toe was even more inflamed, and as I looked closer I discovered pus leaking out of it. It's now incredibly infected. spent all night last night treating it with epsom salt and topical antibiotics. I'm now considering urgent care as I'm having a hard time treating it. Great nail salon in Ewa. Located next to the Foodland and Longs. The staff are very friendly, efficient, and helpful. I'm definitely coming back for my pedicure. You can call and make an appointment but they also take walk-ins so you may have to wait a little bit for your appointment time. They are clean and offer you the nail file and buffer if you want. They charge a small cleaning fee and it's best to pay in cash to save money. They also do waxing, and lashes.

I took me and my daughter last Saturday, and the nail polish is completly off . my daughter nail polish peeled off with in a day.  sorry u guys are very friendly but I'm not going to come back

So unfortunate. My first two experiences here were really great. I had Han for one of them and LG for another. I was feeling like I needed a pick me up and asked my husband to book an appointment for me to get a gel mani and pedi while I was busy. He managed to get me a spot but told me that the two ladies were not available and that I would have someone named Leslie. From the start she didn't even ask how I wanted to do my nails she just started trimming my cuticles without even prepping them (softening it/ push them back). She dipped them in water briefly just to wet them but went in right away so to no surprise she cut my thumb while trimming my cuticles which should've been the red flag to just stop and leave. It wasn't even a oops sorry type of cut it was literally her just not giving a shit while she was doing it. I was so confused cause she started giving me a massage which I've never had in the beginning of a nail appointment only after. She starts filing my nails and again she doesn't ask how I want the shape to be so before she filed them down to nothing I stopped her and asked her to do a rounded/ almond. She asked what color and I said I'd like to do the black cat eye nail polish but since they didn't have it in black I was like no worries that's fine I'll go with something you do have. I saw a red on the wall so I said do you have that she says no and points at an orange that they have. I say no thanks and then I ask for the binder of colors they do have. There were two purples and asked if I could see each one because I wanted the one that would be darkest. She paints them on and cures it under the light. I chose one of the colors she then paints all my nails but still leaves the "other purple" on that one nail. Instead of removing that shade she figures she can just paint over it and I ask her to please stop and remove the color so that one of my fingers is not a different shade than the rest. I keep asking her to wait cause I was confused on what she was doing. Her coworkers keep coming by asking her something about my nails and I'm like can you just explain what you're doing? But she just ignores me. She gets upset with me tells me it's ok to have the other color and I nicely disagree and insist she change the color to match the rest so she electric files off the color on my NATURAL NAIL instead of soaking it off (she literally only had two thin coats of color and went in hard with the file I thought I'd end up with a hole in my nail) leaving it uneven with powder residue on my hand and nails which she continues to paint over not even bother to brush it off. Her co worker tells me why I didn't put black underneath to make it stand out and I'm like I thought that's what she was going to do? Leslie continues to ignore me and I ask her if I can see the sample again because it's not what I thought it would be but then her coworkers start crowding around her and they're all talking in Vietnamese and at this point she's grabbing me really hard pointing at me not listening to me when I asked if she could just clarify what she's doing since it's not what I expected and she just ignores me and throws my hands in the light machine. She then grabs my hands starts squeezing/crushing them in her hands (no this is not a massage it was done with ill intent) at this point I started to tear up from her being so unnecessarily mean and her coworkers not saying anything but seeing what's happening about this WHOLE SITUATION I told her if she doesn't want to do it then she can stop then she gets more upset and says what you want then and starts squeezing/crushing my hands again I told her I'm done and I'll just leave. All I came in for was a black gel cat eye nail polish on my own natural nails! It should've been easy, pain free and fast to do. I've had this done here TWICE at this very place!! But this day I left in pain, tearing, and so unsatisfied. I paid $35 for gel polish and $15 for the ridiculous "cat eye" effect that she did a shitty job at. I do not recommend going here please save yourself and others by avoiding this place. If the owner wants to reach out to me and talk about it I'd be more than happy. Looks like they have cameras in there so I'd love to see the play back on it. I never experienced something like this in my life.
