I came here with my son for a haircut. My brother served in the military, and my eight-year-old son wanted an "army haircut" like his uncle. I instructed the stylist to give him a high and tight with a 0 guard on the side and an 8 on top. Using a 1 guard she went about two inches up above the ears. I reiterated the instructions and was told "I'm not done yet, I still have to blend." After that she did higher on the sides but wouldn't take it down to a 0 guard. I quickly searched "USMC high and tight haircut" and showed her pictures of what I wanted. The stylist informed me she was giving him her version of a high and tight, and she couldn't cut it the way it was in the picture. When pressed she told me she would not cut it that way because, in her words, "I'm a professional stylist and in my opinion that won't look good, so I won't do it." When I told her it's what my son wants and what I, the paying customer, am asking for she countered with, "why don't you take him home and let your wife see it first." My wife had asked me to take our son in and get an "army haircut" for him, but even this did not have any effect as the stylist simply told me "I'm not going to cut it like that." I point blank said, "So you, the stylist, is refusing to cut his hair the way I, the parent, is telling you?" She said, "I'm not refusing, I just don't think it will look good, so I won't do it. You're welcome to take him somewhere else after you leave here, maybe you can find someone who will cut it that way."
