Golden Nails & Tan in Hampstead, MD

Since salons have been closed in PA due to covid, I looked up a place near PA and went here. I got a full set with gel polish. Justin did a wonderful job and was very nice. I had a very sore cuticle from my puppy biting me and I told him it was very very sore. He thought I had a hangnail and proceeded to clip at the cuticle and it was painful and started bleeding. I think it was a communication snafu. He felt bad and was very careful finishing my nails. I would definately go back here.

First time customer today. Came in with four people for gel mani and pedi. Made an appointment. Didn't wait long. Pedicure and manicure were done very well. The ladies were some of the kindest people I've ran into in a nail salon. My nails look great!! So do my daughters!! I would definitely go back and recommend them to anyone.

I was going to this place for awhile and everything was fine but the last time I went, the owner did my full set and he was so rough that he cut me three times and didn't apologize. He was rough and in a hurry, I was so upset and in pain I was almost in tears. I told him I just wanted to go and he then started showing my nails to other costumer a against my will and telling them that he did a good job. I hurried up and paid, since they charged me full price, and left. Never have I been that upset in a nail salon

I never write reviews unless I'm extremely happy with a service but this was not the case. I'm visiting from California and needed my nails done. Asked for gels and color on my toes. The guy who took me was rough.... he cut my finger with an Emory board and did not even apologize as it bled. He constantly tried to up sell me... designs, gel on my toes, eyebrows.... this was beyond irritating. I actually wanted to leave at one point before he was done because I was so upset. He was really rough and I felt rushed. Never again will I go there but it did make me appreciate the girls who do my nails in Cali.

I'm really torn reviewing this place. I have been coming here for gel manicures every 2-3 weeks for about a year and 1/2. Their prices are the best in town and the staff are really personable and friendly. The spa pedicure is great (regular one is good too) but recently I have been pretty unhappy with my manicures. I have been cut quite a few times while they have trimmed my cuticles (drawing significant blood and last time caused an infected cuticle) and question the how sanitary the tools they use are (they do have a UV sterilization unit but do not always grab tools from it) since after they cut me and drew blood they put the cuticle cutter back into the same jar without cleaning it. Most recently I requested a specific color (silver) and they gave me gold and when I questioned it I was told "it's fine, no one knows the difference" except I know the difference and that's not true - gold and silver look nothing alike. I was also told my nails are too small for a design but the person doing my nails didn't even try with a small print brush (I don't have tiny nail beds or bite my nails either, but I do have petite hands. I have never had a problem with designs before and I have seen them do designs on little kid nails with are TINY so I think that was a BS excuse). Recently I have been thinking that I need to find another local nail place, which is unfortunate because their prices are reasonable and the staff really is so friendly and nice.
