I called in Sunday and got an appointment that day. I just wanted a base color, I was very tired of my grey. The color specialist showed me a picture of a hair color that was gorgeous. It would have turned out but my hair just picks up red and I looked like I had orange hair. I called and left a message and the assistant manager called me. She arranged a redo coloring, which I was happy to accept. During the week before the redo, I washed it several times and it didn't look as orange. When I went in for the redo, it was pretty obvious that she wasn't going to redo my color. Keep in mind I thought I would be getting my hair toned down to a cooler shade. Here is the glitch, it was decided by Penelope (the colorist) that I should wait until my next color appointment as my hair was transitioning. This is not what I wanted. So upon finding out it would be $350 for a color and partial foil to get my cooler tones put on my hair, I made the appointment and I left. Please understand I have gone to Gene Juarez for over 20 years. They are different. They have changed and I will never go back to a company that doesn't listen to what I want for my hair. Invest your time and money in someone who listens to you and cares how you feel. Edit: responding to Colleen. An example of how you people don't listen. I have done nothing to my hair. I am orange until I can get into an awesome colorist. You people will be out of business by 2025. You are horrible to try to work with.

I was scheduled for a partial foil , and it turned out to be just a few foils and she said she wanted me to come back. The second time I came back I thought she was going to fix it. My hair wasn't what I wanted, but I thought I would give her another chance. When I left she had me buy purple shampoo, and said it would make my hair blonder . I didn't even use it for the amount of time she said to leave it in. I also didn't realize they charged me. Now I have brown, purple and blonde hair that is breaking off and I am out almost $1000.

I'm frustrated with this salon, but more frustrated with myself for going there. I have been here a number of times over the past several years and every time I leave I feel like I got the same overpriced haircut. I always show the stylist a picture of what I'm looking for and I always walk out with the same outdated style (nondescript layers and facial framing reminiscent of the early 2000's). I went here here last week. It was my first time going back to Gene Jaurez in a few years and I thought they must be better at offering on-trend styles by now. WRONG. I paid over $100 (after tip) for the same outdated style I've been getting here for years. Nothing frustrates me like a bad haircut. Even if I was offered a refund, they can't give me my hair back. Save yourself the frustration! If you are looking for a stylish cut, find somewhere else to go where the stylists are not outdated robots.

Handicap is hard to get to this location the doors do not open automatically and there's very tight quarters to pick out the colors of the nails you want done.
